My hubby now refuses to speak to call centres point blank.
He will get a call and ask WHERE they are calling from, the response is always 'I am calling on behalf of BT / NU / Orange etc' He then again asks Where they are calling from.
After the third or forth attempt he will often be told oh, London, Manchester, Newcastle or wherever. He then asks what part, and they usually prove to him they are outside the UK by saying something like 'in the middle bit', that's enough for him, he then hangs up!
Perhaps we should ALL stop using them - though then nothing would ever get sorted (but does it anyway?)

Thats a pisstake, you have to pay for the level of customer service you deserve? (i.e british call centre for british customers), if not you get an indian call centre?
I would leave orange for that alone, t mobile only have english call centres, and dont charge me for it!

Orange HAVE UK call centres but you cant be sure you will get through to one all the time, with Premier you do, as well as being dealt with properly

You should not have to pay a premium to speak to someone who will give you good customer services, Undertands what you are talking about and undertands what you are saying or what they say to you.
It does seem that this is what it has come to though, shame on all these companies, cost of everything and the value of nothing!

lol like I say, its not just a simple premium to get me through to someone who can help me. Its a single point customer services, which means not being passed from dept to dept etc.
I have 5 accounts all running through the service, so personally im happy to be a premier customer. Its been about for ages, and most people who have been on premier before will agree its a good service.

Na I agree totally with the point you are making mate, customer service should be just that.
Instead it seems like a tiered system in many companies.
Thankfully with premier I get VERY premature upgrades, discounts, a spare SIM card (very helpful) simple issue resolution if a problem arises etc.
Its well worth the money, and if im honest far more than I would expect from a normal cust service agent.

I have stopped using insurance companies with indian call centres, its not too easy to find out thoughas they often lie.
I had terrible trouble with NU and would not ever ever use them.

BT Broadband aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! I am not renewing my contract due to continuous faults that are always "with the exchange" .
It got so bad I can almost recite the "could you now please do blah blah blah".
Sorry BT your service sucks as do your call centres.

I am not too keen on call centres abroad that work for your bank, I was a victim of fraud and it turned out the ******* had access to dozens of peoples internet banking details due to dealing with us daily so someone decided to do a fast one and steal some money!
