"I'd have thought that the best way to prevent this type of thing happening would be to customise the join script in order to weed out those names that are undesirable."

Sounds like we have a volunteer to spend hours typing in names the register script should filter.

Is it confusing? Yes. (Clear I hope?)

Should you change it?
1. If you are prepared to take on 50% of the running of this site - no.
2. If you can't be arsed to take on 50% - yes.

This site has 11000-odd (and some of them ARE odd) registered users. 6000 of them work in IT. I'd bet that a third, so 2000, of them have their own websites, thus making them webmasters. Do they sign on as Webmaster477 etc? No.

BTW, don't change it to Jerkmaster, you'll get complaints from imatrukas

This started off as a simple and polite request to webmaster2.

Could everyone who has a webmaster account please go to profile and set their email address to spoof@scoobynet.co.uk to save me the time of having to sort through each account and blocking them?

If you have any direct concerns or issues with this, please contact me asap on webmaster@scoobynet.co.uk

Best regards

webmaster
