How long will you keep your Impreza?

Its the best car I've ever had, I think I'll be keeping it until the engine mounts rot and the seats fall out of the bottom and its justs left as a rotting heap on the drive ...... so not for a while then

I bought my MY06 new with a view to keeping it for a year or so. I've still got it three years later, and its the first car I've owned for more than a year! I think its because I cant think what else offers the same performace/reliablilty/practicality for the same sort of money
Having said that, I am planning to sell it soon. Possibly.

New in 2002 and last year had to choose... younger car or more mods.
So after a spending spree, it's 400 bhp and it's only going as a pile of rust, done with a dust pan and brush... hopefully a good few years away now.

Ive had my current 93 Type RA 12mths 80k on the clock now and still pulls well 
i dont think it would be worth selling in the current market because if i let it go for 2.5-3k what could i buy as quick as the RA in that price range 
...........i think this ones going to be a keeper and hopefully in time the value will go back up

Had a 97UK wagon, a 99UK saloon, a 00 UK saloon and then a 2003 UK STI.... now back in a 00 UK classic and will keep it for as log as I can. Don't care if I end up having to have a new engine or box or a full respray in the years to come.... this car is for keeps. It's iconic to me.

Probably.
My mate has turned into one after a meer 18 months of ownership of my crappy old shed. Harping on how the classic is so much better than the newages because of this that and the other (despite driving one newer model only once)
I'm tempted to buy a Impreza rot box, to purposely kill infront of an audience (Maybe SSC
). Would have to be a really nasty example to justify it though.

STi V3 wagon, 10 years in August. Never let me down, 0-60 in 4.5 secs, scooby burble, hatch for the dogs and big stuff, 4wd for the snow and I can maintain it myself, why would I want to get rid of it?

Early 92-93 WRX's are going now for around £1500, so your RA would fetch £2500-3000 max. It doesn't matter what stuffs advertised at really does it? It's what it sells for at the end of the day.

MY93 WRX - I've owned it since 4th Jan 2000, and driven it for well over 100,000 miles in those 9 years.
A few times I've thought about changing to an STi 5 or 6, but never really got further than a cursory checks of Autotrader, etc.
However, it now seems to have some quite terminal rust appearing in the rear arches, so this year's treck to Switzwerland could well be its last!

Had mine for 6 months now after a long search.
Planning on keeping her probably another 18months then getting a Blobeye STI as at my age the insurance companies like drivers to have experience.

I see your point, wont low miles make a difference to price? ........i guess if i ever did sell it breaking it might be the best option
