MR2 Turbos are quick, and quite tuneable Fensport do loads of very nice stuff. Loads of Celica rally car bits fit.

As for the "dangerous" comment, the whole mid-engine danger thing is misunderstood. If they are so hard to control why did F1 cars evolve into mid engine, why did group b rally card go mid engine?. Basically a mid engine car has a lower moment of polar inertia as it is more able to pivot around its central axis. If the back end goes then it goes qickly, howver it also comes back qucikly as there is less weight/momentum to get back. Anyone who has had a nice front understeer moment in a Scooby knows that heavy cars can be nasty too. A scooby is safe in the hands of most people, but if you know what you are up to then a mid engine car is fine.

I had a scooby, now I have an Elise, (and ok I nerly span it coming out of a junction on the way to work!)

If the standard TC is anything like the Supra system he'd be infinitely better turning it off. The stock TC was *responsible* for the writing off of my UK TT.

Gran T,

Correct but unlike an everyday road going MR2 an F1 car has its geometry and tires changed for every little variation in the track or weather.

In the dry MR2s are fun. In the wet they just don't cut it.

Having owned an MR2 and a 911 I prefer the 911 oddly. With even more weight behind the rear axle. The key is always a constant throttle through corners.

I had a non turbo, before getting my first Scooby. Loved it. Echo all comments about respect in the wet, but once you knew the car, there was a lot of fun to be had. I even took it out in the snow

I have come up against a few turbos and they are seriously quick. But then the car is quite light and they are 2WD so you would expect it.

Pat Herborn has a red MR2 Turbo, apart from his 1:1 Tamiya Impreza

My missus has bought a new shape MR2, which Ian Litchfield has on a boat. She went for it partly on the recommendation of Rob Mac. On the handling circuit at Milbrook he was driving a WRX and his mate was in the new MR2. Rob couldn't shake him off his tail, for lap after lap.

I think EVO quite like em too.

The standard TC on an MR2 is sufficient...but nothing special though!

Also...MR2s can be fun in the wet (not as much as an Impreza though)...aswell as the dry (in SO-3s of course), you just gotta have confidence and know what your doing, once it begins to twitch!!!
