Scope
Go to a remote part of Africa, South America or a place in east Asia or Northern Eastern Europe and the BIG clubs will be known.
Newcastle would be unkown. The reason they are a small club with a large support.

You could say the same about any Premier League club with worldwide TV coverage. However, a season or two in the Championship would plunge any of the medium/small clubs into global obscurity though.

Thats my point, any Prem club would have some recognition tbh but Oldham have been missing from the top flight for what? 15 years now and still get remembered by some

Are you sure that Argentinian guy you were talking to in Mexico wasn't Ossie Ardiles? He probably remembers Oldham from his time in English management. I can't imagine many other Argies remembering Frankie Bunn or Andy Ritchie!

Well I can promise you he knew about English Football very well. And he'd never been in England either. From what he told me, theyre very knowledgable about the whole of English football.

We're down!
Doesn't matter about giving away scarves and flags to gee up the crowds last night. After the first 5 minutes the same old routine was played out and the atmosphere died on it's ****.
Championship footie next season whoop whoop and we won't go straight back up either

Funnily enough I'm not so sure that NUFC will go down. I think that the unbelievable fall from grace by Hull City is going to save them.
Hull have only won 2 times in the last 27 Premier League matches, and one of those was only against Middlesbrough. In fact 28 games ago Hull were joint Top of the League and had only lost one game. Newcastle were 19th!
Similarly 'Boro have only won 2 times in 23 Premier League matches, and one of those was only against Hull!
Assuming WBA are as good as down, I can't see beyond 'Boro and Hull joining them in the Championship next year. It won't be thanks to Shearer though: just the inability of these two other sides to earn enough points to stay up.
Here's the run-in for the most endangered clubs (ignoring WBA):
Hull:
Hull v Stoke
Bolton v Hull
Hull v Man Utd
Newcastle:
Newcastle v Middlesbrough
Newcastle v Fulham
Aston Villa v Newcastle
Middlesborough:
Newcastle v Middlesbrough
Middlesbrough v Aston Villa
West Ham v Middlesbrough

Hull will lose all 3
Boro will be lucky to get 2 Pts from that, draw against Villa and Newc
Newcastle will get one pt draw against boro
As much as I don't like Barton he was spot on with his comments about Shearers tactics.
I wonder if he called Al a big poofter

Time to start praying for the next messiah to lead the Geordie nation into the promised land.
Again.

Im gutted for the black and whites. Great supporters who deserved more than that **** performance today. You had nothing at all.
Im affraid i cant see a quick bounce up on the players you have.
Owen will be laughing all the way to the bank but i think he will be ****ing off to the states as they are the only dumb asses to pay 100k a week for him.
Good luck toons, your fat white bare bellies will be missed across the premiership grounds next season

[quote=**************;8654525]They are a big club in terms of supporters/regular large attendances/financial stability and turnover and being quite high up on the European clubs rich list. This of course does not count for anything in terms of performance and lack of trophies and whether they should be in any sort of proposed super league.[/
sounds like arsenal not newcastle lol
