By having pictures and proof of my brilliant fun life ( ) rather than making it up while having a go at others. By getting my kicks from actually trying and doing stuff in real life and not by moaning at others.
Simple.
But you carry on putting the world to rights while carrying your "extra" two or three stone and your obsession with me. Odd is not the word.
If I send you an autographed postcard, will you leave me alone?
Thought not.

Jeez, you lot are worse than a bunch of bitchy women, at the wrong time of the month.
To the point in hand, I'd be tempted to save the money, and not bother with an interior designer(even if you can find one to suit your needs, and not just be on the sell). You are already spending money getting work done, do you not know someone with a bit of creativity and vision, who could work with your taste to help pull together how you want the room to be finished?
You don't need a show home as such, just something nice which reflects what you like, that is tastefully put together.

Now, I have a jest with you, make a smilie and you get all defensive. I know I get to you, you've admitted it yourself....but I hope one day we can just have some simple banter like so many other SN members are able to do.
Now carry on with your brilliant, real life. PMSL.

I think some people on this thread need to "Get a Room" rather than get a life, lol.... And one of them's my husband! (I feel so violated!)

But actually I don't own a RR but do have a lovely period home with high ceilings, original fireplaces and cornices. Its been refurbed using a nice mix of natural materials including limestone, copper slate, oak etc. I'm more than happy to post up some pics if you agree to do the same and then we can compare tastes?

Deep - sounds very nice. When was it built?
My folks live in a 500 year old gaff - the oldest in their town. Been a total mission to do it up properly but it looks amazing now.
If you are prepared to put in the extra effort, I think nice period homes can't be beaten. If you're not then they fall to bits rapidly.

Davyboy just called - he wants his joke back.
DCI - I have to admit that I didn't really look at the pics on that site. They are actually pretty grim. So link post FAIL for me. But I generally like the Swedish/Scandanavian style look in a modern home. Not so good in an old gaff.

Saying that, I'm comfortable sharing pics of the rooms we have finished. And in fact, they may well be on this site somewhere.

I'm not at all bothered by your lifestyle, my initial comment had nothing to do with that....so I won't get in to a pi$$ing competition with you about wealth and taste. There are other members who would no doubt would.

Davegtt - also "comeback" FAIL
As for Essex - my daft preconceptions were blasted out of the water when we lived in the Docklands and visited several times. Some lovely areas in the county.

I being in with the kids seeing as I have one now.
It's all the rage.
This might be going a wee bit off topic but... while Davy, Dave and Sonic were carrying out their daily grind commuting to their grey offices, groanig and bleating at countless thousands of others who are all in the wrong, I was in the sea in near empty surf (got in at 6.30am) having the most amazing waves I have seen in months. Then drove home and got to work. So ner.
Thought you'd all like that

You then decide everybody in Essex, me included, owns a Range Rover and is covered in bling. You are either very stupid or have some issue with me to make such unsolicited comments. So what's the problem?

Well you are bothered by something you just aren't saying what. You've come on the thread saying I'm unable to make a decision by myself because I'm asking about interior designers, haven' actually used one, just thinking about it. On the basis of that you conclude I can't make a decision?

I made a joke about your decision making, as you often post when thinking about spending money.....but then you are from Essex, so showing off is 2nd nature
Essex -stereotype - joke.

Actually Matt.
Being as I have zero interest in surfing and being in cold water, being in my car feels like I had a better morning, even though the M1 was closed and I was 7 mins late for work.
Anyway, ACL operation for me tomorrow, so at least I don't have to drive again for 6 odd weeks! That how real my brilliant life is!
