I think there is a couple on the list that aint going now. Its getting near and as we are thinking about meeting points, can I suggest that we revise the list again but add your location. Then we can get an idear where everyone is coming from, arrange a few meeting points at various times,starting south and heading north for us all to eventually meet up and go as a group...

Agreed Hammerman, if we sort out local meet up spots and then all converge on the M6 Junction 4 services (maybe?) and convoy up to Chester together from there, that would be great.

Apologies for not moving this along much guys, this thread started out as more of an idea than me organising it! Glad it's taken off though.

Can't recall seeing a WR1 on my travels around Telford but will keep an eye out! I'm in the blue wrx with soon to be fitted Mervil's old stiffied STi spoiler

At the moment then jamiedream, you and your mates from Milton Keynes meet up,drive up the M1 then M6 to meet Tom and me at services on the M6 and then north to Telford to meet up with G4R3TH and Lancewr1. We can arrange times nearer the day. Anybody else on for this day out??

I am in Wrexham. Route in for us may be different to what's suggested. A483 on to Wrexham road and in to Chester over the river dee and the racecourse and entry will be from opposite direction.
Anyone see a problem with this?

I can wait in a layby on the A483 Wrexham bypass.

Shouldn't be a problem.

Rather than the A41 from the M54 to Chester, going on the A528 to meet up with you've been scoobied on the A483 won't make a massive difference to journey times.

Forget what?... oh I`ve forgotton.... Its only a suggestion on times and meeting points and all are welcome to "tweek" them around to suit but as a sugestion I thought we could aim for the following..
Milton Keynes lot leave MK around 7-00... Next meeting point would be M6 Corley Services to leave there at 8-00....Next meeting point would be M54 Shifnal Services at 8-30 to leave around 8-45...Last meeting point would be on the A41 Broxton roundabout,(Whitchurch road,"Edgerton Arms Hotel" at around 9-15 to leave around 9-30.(Would that meeting point be ok for you,you`ve been scoobied)? We should arrive at Chester by about 10-00. It all depends on traffic on the day I suppose. Doors open at the racecourse at 9-00 but things dont start till lunchtime.Please change any or all of these times if you want and there is still plenty of time to get all the times and meeting points fixed..

yes that should be ok for us.
just noticed you coming up A41. Different way for me and slightly out of way.
Thought you coming up M54 and telford shrewsbury wrexham.

Can still come over to the broxton roundabout. Not sure what traffic will be like going in to chester that way.

if right and big turnout, Chester can be a nightmare getting to.

folks,

please read the arrangements for 9th August and check the route that your convoy is using is as per the instructions on that page.

we've got marshals helping us with traffic and this will only work if everyone takes the same route to the racecourse when they approach Chester.

OK peeps, will mean taking a little detour, possibly in to chester from A41 direction and using the ring road in chester to get to join sealand road. If have to go as far as M56 then problem as taking M56 off the *** chester bypass will only take you manchester direction.
