Hi all!

Only done 600 miles so far, will be due the 1k service before the end of the week, which it DOES have to have as its an import.
I would still have an oil change at 1k if it was a UK car, you wouldn't believe the amount of cr@p that gets into the oil in ALL new engines, not just scoobs.

Really pleased with the car, I cant describe how good it feels... The amount of grip it has is unbelievable, and its pretty nippy too!
Been a naughty boy with the rev's, just can't help myself..

My face is beginning to ache...just can't stop grinning

Cost's a fortune in fuel!

Hi BOB

Are you still using SUL ? I agree with you about the oil change at 1000 miles. Even if Subaru UK say it isn't necessary I am having it done. At one time the oil they put in for the "running in" period was thinner. I suspect they have stopped doing this and just put standard oil in, but thats no excuse. Like you say, all the wear of a brand new engine is going to collect in that oil.

Blimey Bob - 600 miles..... Didn't realise you'd registered it as a taxi! Not surprised shares in the major oil companies are at a 12 month high!

Yorkie - our Belgian supplier insists that the 1,000 miler (or 1,600 km) service is still essential.

Yorkie,
swithced back to NUL for now, going to see what it runs like and what MPG I get. Was getting 19-23mpg with SUL.

Left the WRX at home today and went to work in the van...I missed it...when I came home I gave it a shampoo and leather, then a little road test to make sure everything wa OK

I can't help but let the engine do it's business...yeah there's been a few redlines but never prolonged and always in safe conditions
Someone asked what shampoo I used today, I picked up the first bottle I saw in a car spares shop on my way home, it was Carplan Triplewax £2.98 for a litre(was a litre for the price of 500ml) I knew I didn't have any at home and didn't want to use washing up liquid so wasn't fussed.
A mate said he has some I can have FOC from when he was in the car valeting game..said it was expensive stuff but was mine for free... will prob' use that when I collect it from him..

"group buy on speakers" - has got to be worth finding out more...
