Muppets was formed as the "skip" of SN for all the gurgle and nonsense to be dumped there. Then it was blessed with some creative participation due to it's mere nature of "anything goes here". But then, under "anything goes here", some abuse to the fringers took place there as well- very similar in principle to MPs claiming unreasoable expenses So, once that area was disciplined, the victorious second and third grade clowns left the area too, as they were not good enough to instigate or hold the humour. Some sporadic left overs/ first grade quality comedians also departed, because their jokes were like reading Oscar Wilde in a non-responsive rattery. Then came the mighty infractions, legalised abuse, in retaliation to then-existing abuse; that cracked the very windscreen of Scoobynet. The "vision" of the forum got blurred, the performance of the forum went in a lurch. Many baddies, but also a few good, non-nasties with "speaking mind" disposition were banned with them, as they opened their mouth too much for His choice and His Masters Voice Then came a new admin. He disarmed "the fools and the fabulous" crowd from the infraction tool, thank God! Now good modertion under a considerate admin here aborts trolling at first sight. No mutiple identities, no **** takes place any more. Voices are not curbed unless they are utterly unreasonable. Community spirit grows again in harmony and understanding. To face it, Subaru car itself is not as popular and cutting- edge anymore. Recession does no justice to car buyers either. These circumstances also have significant impact on all the commercial forums. In my opinion, this place is doing fine. Anyone who wants to revive Muppets in the middle-fashioned way needs have a job that allows/justifies all-hours internet access to the forums, or needs to be an unemployed comedian. Then he/she would need about 10 @rsekissers in the same situation, to take the glory further. Good luck to all the contestents.

scoob_babe, when I re-read my post a minute ago, I thought I must have had too much Pinot Grigio before I wrote it, specially in spellings department

[QUOTE=Turbohot;8706747] Voices are not curbed unless they are utterly unreasonable.

Great post but from my experience in any tumultuous debates, I will be curtailed even before I have warmed up......

Possibly fully paid up members have more "clout" or even value to SNet

Shame if this is the way you have felt. From what I have read, you come across to be a good poster. Posters like you make this place interesting. Thanks for joining.

I don't know about paid and unpaid differences TBH. One year for a wrong reason I admit, I ended up becoming a paid member too. I didn't think I was offered any extra priviledges for £30 per annum fee. I was even required to ask for Scoobynet merchandise later, that you would expect to be automatically sent to you because you have become a paid member. LOL I didn't bother. In further years, I didn't want to pay for the membership just to gain a nasty infraction gun. I am not a great SN buyer, seller or a track-racer. So there is no point in me paying to get in here. The only way to make people pay is to ask everyone for a fee. But then, the traffic will thin, and the buyers who pay substantial money to advertise here won't get much sale out of this forum. Back to what we were talking about, it should make no difference to how people are treated here, paying or non-paying.

I wear a Sekonda Like all good watches; It tells the time Of course if I wanted a performance watch; I'd invest in one that tells the time quicker and does 0-60 in under 60 seconds.

Thing is, you may have stumbled upon a point:

NSR has been host to a number of resident blaggers over the years. And the past high times 80's-esq boom have borne a prevelent crowd of new-age yuppies boasting of their gains, admiring each others, and asking what to do with a surplus cash in excess of £500K whilst keeping it safe from kinky girlfriends and bitter ex-partners.

Of course, now the bubble has officially burst. This breed of men are now concerned and wary that their once high value assets are no longer as lucrative as they originally thought, that combined with lack of liquid assets and their partner spending it all to enhance their own "assets". This means that they are in trouble, less wanting to brag, and are too ashamed to ask for advice on how to get the mortgage/finance/cc companies off their back with impossible repayment schemes. During which, they fall behind on their payments for internet connections at home and lose thir job.

This ultimately results in them no longer having any acess to scoobynet.

Just a theory

I think by "80's esque" you are referring to the DINKY population

NSR certainly has it's fair share of these types about, not naming names ofcourse.

For the record I wear a Sekonda Titanium which has a battery with a lifetime guarantee

I've got a G-Shock which is perfect for wearing when rolling on the floor with ******* and other law breakers. But I don't think that has much to do with this place being so quiet.

Pinot? Whatever happened to the Bacardi Breezers you were so fond of? What we need is another pissed-up BBQ to inject some community spirit back in to the place.

Yup: Although some have kids. I kind of see them like some of the "types" you get on Grand Designs: - Successful double income, adventurous self build project, token child midway through, vastly overlooking expedature and realistic time/cost scale etc....

Sekonda Titanium; Nice.

I have a Sekonda "One"

Endorsed by Petter Solberg, apparently. Well, thats what I was told by a Scoob WRC enthusiast who noted it admirably and incinuated that I purchased the watch due to its ties with the Subaru WRC. I was like: "Wut? its a £50 watch, I bought it 'cos it looked pretty"

Nowt wrong with Scoobynet in my opinion, every section bar NSR, Muppets and the Other Marque are generally very busy.

NSR and Muppets are very odd places for new posters to come as its full of cliques which can be quite threatening at times. Most of these cliques have at least one self obsessed bandit which the others leech onto, its also quite pathetic to see on every other post.

I referring to no one in particular as there is quite a few that seem to have a flock behind them who i have watched abuse and belittle other members of this site in very much the same way and bully with his gang would pick of the newboy in primary school.

Luckily I haven't had this happen to myself but I certainly know i wouldnt return if it did happen.

Partially the reason I did one for a couple months back. I never mentioned any names out of respect for the site, but apart from the abuse I got on emails yadda yadda, it did contribute. I just feel pity for those types now

Aye, you can be a **** sometimes, but you don't need the backing of you gang of cronies to agree with everything you say. It feels refreshing knowing others think this way too

No-one's posted properly in Muppets for two years, cliques or otherwise, so I don't know what you're on about.
