Is Scoobynet not as active as it once was?

I think its because many people like myself don't have time to post their opinion on a topic then spend the rest of the day defending your point of view due to the negative responses you receive back.
I now just pop into NSR on my lunch break to catch up on UK politics

Illustrates, perfectly, what's wrong with SN.
I am thick skinned and can take the rantings of a few saddos .. but some may not be so hardened.

I honestly cannot see why people are complaining. What is a forum for anyway? Are we all supposed to be at each other's throats insulting each other to make things entertaining or something? Isn't it primarily for sharing interests, discussing problems, having a few laughs etc? We still have some characters around as well thank goodness.
Nothing wrong with a bit of humour and mickey taking, all in fun really and no one should take extreme umbrage at that.
The only thing that actually upset me was when a couple of "*********" accused me of lying to SN about my background. That was libellous and those concerned were lucky that I did not take it any further. As it happened I was able to prove they were wrong but neither of them had the guts to apologise. Says something for their characters of course. That was during the previous hierarchy and the man in charge then did nothing about it of course!
Apart from that, I enjoy SN, just as it is in fact, and see nothing wrong in the moderating or the way it is being run. It is necessary to have rules to keep the whole thing under reasonable control.
I suppose there will always be those with an unpleasant streak in their characters, but I think most on here are well able to deal with them anyway.

I wish it was a bit more interesting. I've got an hour and a half of work left and then off for a week. It's dragging. Could do with some entertainment!

For me Sn died or was killed of by a group in muppets (mentioning no names) that decided they wanted the place to themselves and did their very best to hound and bully anyone that they deemed 'not good enough'
i dont use SN much anymore but it suits my needs

I'd go along with some of that, as per my original reply. As said then, some need to realise that they are just users and not everything revolves around them. A simple hissy fit doesn't suffice to get ones own way. Again I won't mention any names.

You can't please all the people all the time.
Anything that bores me, I don't read. Anyone who annoys me, I ignore. Those I find funny, I join in. At this time of the year I have much better things to do than sit infront of the computer. I pop in for a looksie plenty of times and add if I feel like it. I would imagine most of fellow Scoobynetters are just the same
I don't think the place has changed much at all, people will always come and go.

+2 :- Swings and roundabouts.
Not everyone is expected to get along with each other. And if they don't, they shouldn't be forced to interact with them either.
The ignore feature is there which helps in part.
Issues within Muppets served an important lesson I think; You can't force people to accept others. No matter what threats you give or punishments acted out; it just served to push them away from the forum. And with muppets thats exactly what it did.

The only irritating thing I find is the length of time it takes now to load up a page. It virtually doubles the time it takes to go through the forum.
That must be "off-putting" to some.

I think this site has died in terms of the non-scooby elements
It may have traffic for subaru owners but the rest of it has now stopped to be what it once was.
The threads are dull, most of the previous that lit a flame have gone, and there is no more debate.
Most of the NSR is made up of "recommend me a mobile phone", or "look at my new dog/child".
It used to be a place where we argued, debated and often fell out. Yes, it was often abusive - but it was busier, and INTERESTING.
All gone now.

No FP it's just because it's sunny outside - this happens to all forums in the spring apparently .
These new clowns make the ex-clownmeister look like he knew what he was talking about when he carped on about the community when it suited him and banned everyone when he was trying to sell sell it down the river.
Shame really - As you said - used to be a place for lively and edgy debate - now it's all look at this video or recommend me a new phone etc.
Probably time to hang up the old SN keybored

I still pop in to have a look, but can't be arsed in general....
I've found another site to use that is very busy with minimal moderation and a high level of user intelligence for a good debate, like SN used to have. Tam's BOTW is picking up too . A few from here are joining.........
