Okay, having said I never accept friend requests with anyone I don't know (or am not sure I know), this bird sent me one last night . Checked her friend list to see if I might know her and a who's who list of pro surfers (UK and Oz) came up. Must be from a Facebook group I administrate (all about getting a traditional Hawaiian board made in wood and sent over here to tour around the UK). So I broke my own rule and accepted:

I don't really use the social network sites very much: I quite like Twitter as it allows you to get updates from people like Stephen Fry and Geoff Lloyd. I don't post anything myself as I don't really think that anyone cares I am currently eating a sandwich ...

The first I heard about Twitter was when, said Stephen Fry, got stuck in a lift. He Twittered his predicament to any sad B*stard who wanted to read such sh1te.

i'm confused -- am i a saddo internet nerd (with no real friends, greasy hair and an unnatural obsession with star trek) or a super cool dude coz I drive a midsized turbo charged Jap car, and like to share this with like minded souls
