I'd be fairly happy RCM did not advise running on a standard 2.0L map.
Why would they? Maybe selective hearing on your own part.

You say in your first post it was first time you opened her up.
So gave her boost/revs.

So answer regards incorrect fueling is your likely cause.

RCM IMO has nothing to stand over as there not at fault here..

How did this end up..?

With regards to Subaru engines, not many 'every day' engines can produce 150-200 bhp/ltr. Bike engines, even the latest make about 130, albeit at 19000rpm and with something like 50ft-lb of torque..?

As for the 2.0 v 2.5 map/ecu coping, a bit like what's already being said- imagine having a microwave meal for two.. that recommends 60 seconds for your 650w oven, but unbeknown to you the wife has changed the micro for a 900w oven... your meal for two ends up as a meal for the bin instead..

Any computer (ecu) only knows what it's been told (programmed to do) by the manufacturer. The manufacturer planned for the ecu to operate a 2.0 engine under 'most' eventualities. Having an extra 25% capacity was simply not within it's design parameters..!

Chalk it up to a lesson learnt as you obviously thought the mapping would be ok..!
