Parts prices are nothing like the same though Rob. Spoken with two R35 owners and they both said great cars but incredibly expensive to keep on the road when doing reasonable mileage.

Trackday in the wet with Toyo 888 r-comps/Enkei RPF1 18x10 +38. Trying to reel in an Ultima GTR equipped with a Corvette Z06 is a 7.0-liter LS7 engine, thank you rain. Started to get dry and in the last pic he's gone, bye-bye.

Rim width and wheel offset, sorry for the misunderstanding. Over here wide wheels and tires are "cool" so I always post rim size before I get slammed with pm asking "what size are your wheels?"

hhhmmm, what with tyre are they 245? (is that 10") and the offset.. +38. Is that ike the spacing cus itlooks like it might rub on the edges.

Does altering the wheels set up effect handling and... what about warranty?

Would think he's running 265, our standard rims are 8" and the 330s are 8.5" so 245 would be a stretch on 10".

Nice car, the wheels look very good. Is the front lip from Chargespeed?

I am aware of the running costs. I thought the Subaru was quite reasonable and I am not too concerned about the bills. If I was I wouldn't be buying it. I know it will be expensive.

My goal for the next car was to get one I had to have.

I test drove RS4's, nice but getting an older car didn't suit. Went to test drive an RS5, looked at it and thought no. Not for 70K.
I tested a 997 C4s and 997 turbo. Both more expensive to purchase but I like the idea of telling people I drive a Nissan. I will save the porsche for later in life (maybe).

I tried to test drive an M3, I phoned the day before to arrange a test drive. Drove 150 miles sat in their showroom for an hour while they worked on figures. Seriously? Then they suggested I come back later. I said OK but warned them I was going to test drive an GTR. Their loss.
They needed to go over figures to see if there was a possibility of a deal. I had already decided they could stick it, patronising f$*$£&*. I need to be excited about a car before I am interested in talking numbers. I am still annoyed about it. So, I went off and bought a car £7k more expensive than their precious M3. If I had got in it, I might be in an M3 now.

After taking out the GTR, I was a gibbering idiot. I almost bought a brand new one but decided not to because I didn't like the red flashes on the interior of the black edition.
The one I am getting is 1 year old premium edition sat nav and has a few more miles than I wanted but I barely do 5000 miles a year and that is using it as much as I want. This decision is devoid of sense. There are so many reasons not to get it but there is one big reason to get it. I really want it, just like I really wanted my Subaru.

I will still check in here though. The hatchback has been fun trouble free motoring the only smile reducer was the potential for engine blow up. That is the sole reason I started looking for a different car. I will definitely miss the hatchback.

I'm having my 330 wheels refurbished soon and the guy that's doing them does a lot with Porches and he has a 265 tyre there so going to try it on the 8.5" rim to see. It's just the style that appears to be popular in the US, big tyres and push the wheel as close to the arch as possible, does suit the car.

Front lip is Varis, sideskirts, rear cornerpieces and diffuser are Chargespeed replica. I had Chargespeed front lip but it was wrecked at the track.

Tire sizes

The first pics I was running the OE Dunlops 245/40R18, car was brand new so I thought I better get some use out of them.

18x9 +29 Advan RS wheels now run Yokohama Advan AD-08 265/35R18

18x10 +38 Enkei RPF-1 wheels run Toyo R888 275/35R18
-I need to run 5mm spacers up front to clear OE brembos, but I've heard they will clear the 6-pots.

I rolled the rear fenderlip around 15deg. nothing to substantial. I don't think I needed to roll the rear to fit the 18x9(did it before wheels went on) but definitely would have for the 18x10's.

Running wheels/tires has its pros and cons. Wide tires=better grip but will cause vehicle to tramline in deep road rutts. The GR chassis runs approx. 7.00 deg. caster so tramlining isn't as prevelent as it would be on a GD. Depending on what wheels you purchase there is the extra weight/rotational mass to consider when increasing size of rims/tires. The wheels I have are very light considering their size.

Low offset wheels will alter scrub radius and put more load on the hub unit bearings but you need to run them to clear front strutbody. The hub bearing on '05+STI are more sturdy/beefier than previous generations so if you own an '04 WRX and track the car with low-offset wheels I would keep an eye for premature bearing wear.

as your ur in Scotland, you'll need to track down ScottyB (used to own RB320 press car) who now has a gtr35, spent an absolute fortune on tracking it, sure he can help you on any thing you need to know.

good luck with the car, just heard so much bad stuff on servcing, and massive bills, wanted to warn you.

+35 offset is the way to go, no arch issues and looks so much better, running 245 40's!

Handling not affected in any way either, best mod I have done by far, a little expensive though! You can use wheel spaces to push the rims out but I was not too keen on these as its a family car and was not 100% on the safty aspect.

Only downside is the flaps are not as effective as they used to be!

Similar price to the one i got from Elite a few years back, was superb in getting most of the salt etc off the car after all the snow had gone... the neighbours must wonder what the hell i've put on my car

Let me know what you think of the autobrite foam, i'll need some more soon.

Got myself one of those snow foam lances last weekend, awesome bit of kit

Could not resist, finished all chores indoors and just had an hour on the car.

Very impressed with both lance and foam, foam was still clinging to car after a windy 10 minutes!

Car was not that dirty to start with but magifoam certainly made it easier to power wash it off.

Finished off with a wool mitt that was no effort at all!

All in all, very impressed with the new kit.

i have one of these, was good with my old karcher but now with the new washer which is 1600W, the foam foams even more

i did Deb's focus with it, left it for 10 minutes and jet washed off, i didnt even have to cloth wash it!!!
