Rear Lip Spoiler
SOLD, SOLD, SOLD
Hi Guys,
I have a brand new rear lip spoiler available if anybody's interested?
Made from PU and the finish is so good that it will not require painting - unless you want it the same colour as your car of course. It's about 200mm longer than required so will need trimmed down to suit. That's actually a good thing as you can then match the end profile to the stock hatch spoiler. Also comes with double row of 3M double sided tape.
See pictures below of actual item plus a couple of fitted shots, although not my car.
Cheers, Neil

While we're talking about bargains, here's my latest purchase.
4 x Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3Ds, 225/45R17 94V, all with between 7mm and 8mm tread for £150!!!
Last winter I was on the OEM Dunlops which I can honestly say transformed the hatch into the worst car I have ever driven in slippy conditions. This year - bring it on!
Cheers, Neil

Cooling
What are the opinions on insufficient cooling being a contributing factor to the all too frequent engine failures on the hatch STi?
The GrpN cars ditch the stock 08+ rad in favour of the 06/07 hawkeye STi rad and looking at the specs I can see why. Although the core surface area is virtually identical for both, the hawk STi core is nearly 70% thicker - 27mm vs 16mm.
Thoughts?
Cheers, Neil
P.S. Started separate thread on hatch forum.

Looked at this a few times, I started first with a highflow 78 deg stat which has improved things no end but it still warms up to quick on a stand still, I looked at using an alloy radiator instead as its better thermally equipt than that of the plastic crap which is like an envelope in thickness.

HELP:
Car is on the drive and I can't use the key fob r keyless entry to get in the car.... or to start it, unless fey fob is next to the START button!!
Thought it was battery.. went out and bought new one.. £3.50.
came back. still same problem.
Manage to get the car strted... drove down the road.... everything worked fine, lock/unlock/start etc
Came home again..... guess what.. nothing worked!
SO.. the issue is radio waves in the air blocking the transponder?
could be a house alarm??
I can lock the car with the Key.. but how do i set the alarm?.. and turn alarm off?
(KEYPAD?)

Have you tried the old holding the fob against your head trick? Worth a shot

Have had this a couple of times on my driveway suspiciously following a visit by BT Openreach to the Close
The car alarm part works on the usual 433.92Mhz band whereas the keyless part (close proximity) operates on a lower frequency somewhere about 125Khz, a similar frequency to some RFID bar code scanners.
Wifi is much higher at 2.4Ghz although I think it may/can swamp the lower frequency signals.
I don't appear to have any problems when my neighbour is out or has his windows closed, but that may just be coincidence.
Can only resort to key and alarm keypad at such times and waking the neighbours up as you fumble to get to the keypad

SORTED!!!!!
you wouldn't believe it!!
our house alarm (wireless system) control panel was showing LOW BATTERY, so check all the PIR/door contacts, found the PIR that was low battery, changed it.. tested the whole system.. LOW BATTERY light now gone out.
The Subaru Now OPENS/CLOSES/STARTS!!! with key fob + door handle button!!
Scarey!
So I've wasted £3.50 on a new key fob battery that I didn't need.

Liking the gurney Mark,
I have one on mine too, since about 2006. Joking aside, it actually stops alot of the wing blade chatter that occurs above 80 mph on the newage wing.
Sorry for polluting the hatch thread with the ugly black bugeye lol
