Hi have got my car back but due to a couple of reasons pat only mapped it up to 1.2bar temporarily until a couple of jobs get completed. when running the car in the idol was terrible and stalling was quite a regular occurence. i asumed this would be fixed when the car got mapped and it has defo improved but i have still stalled a couple of times when pulling up at junctions. i have had the ecu tek racerom installed so i belive it does away with the mass air flow sensor? i have also been told that cars over 400bhp dont want one anyhow? anyway what i would really like to know is any of you guys with the racerom have problems with a low idol/ stalling? and if not is it just a problem with the map?? help!! cheers
Not got an air leak on one of your pipes have you ? or a leak after the map pre turbo ?

Some race rom mapped hatches had a bit of a "hole" around 3000 rpm, due to MAF scaling of the cold air induction kits ( AEM in my case ) and the transition from closed to open loop ... this can be mapped out.
Your problems sounds like the map isn't finished, or set up for light throttle / off boost use .. is it fine when on boost or some throttle, expecially over 3000 rpm?
Racerom CAN do without the MAF but it's usually reserved for high flow / high power engines. Most likely your's is still using the MAF but needs more setting up.
What other bits did you need doing that had Pat keep the boost down? Nothing critical?

I thought full manual locked front and rears together as the centre locks more?
I know I get more skipping from rear when on full DCCD lock manual!
I was going to try manual minimum to ease front / rear lock!
See ya

I still have my maf with my racerom map, doesn't seem much need to remove till pushing over 500bhp. Are there any other issues that made him map to only 1.2bar?

Mark, my fronts brakes have started squealing when I brake in reverse which I think is a result of the being on the low side, do I recall you had the Godspeed package and suffered squaling brakes, hence are now on the DS2500 pads above??
Also, was it eurocarparts you got the discs from?
Cheers

Boost leak when cold?
Thought I would get a better response in here.....
Recently I have noticed a whoosh like sound from the engine when cold when lifting of the throttle. This noise totally disappears when the engine has warmed up. This is only apparent when driving and will not do it at a standstill
At first i thought this could be the oem recirculation valve, but I'm 99.9 % it never used to do this and why only when cold? I then had thoughts about the air pump so tested this theory this morning and the pump had cut out and the noise was still present.
Car still makes it's target boost and goes like stink, just concerned there may be a leak somewhere that could lead to something else long term (fingers crossed not another short engine )
Any ideas or does anyone else's do this?

Tyre's.
Its that time again for me, Just getting the GC's ready for spring and its MOT so needs to re-Tread it.
My options that I've narrowed it down to are
PIRRELI P-ZERO ROSSO
MICHELIN PS3
GOODYEAR F1 ASYMETRIC 2
I've ran Pirreli's since the hatch was new & Ive tried Bridgestone Potenza's, Whilst awesome for grip in the dry they were **** in the wet, I then tried Dunlop sp6000 which wore out far to quick and were the worst for noise ever.
other choice was continental sport.
Nothing else really comes into it really

As much as I'd be interested mate, I'm gonna buy brand new. this set I put on my winter wheels had done a couple hundred miles and they were horrific on my car and still dont know why as the tyres looked mint. Not saying yours will. but It pulled like buggery to the right on hard throttle and braking well it dived to the left, until I'd done 1000 miles which has put me off part worns

I haven't tried them on my 330S yet, but ran them on my last 05 STI.
They were great, and I will put them on the 330S
