Are the mats for the saloon cars are different than those of the previous hatchbacks?

Try ebay seller Mr Top Mats - I got a set for my 330S for £29 plus postage, genuine too

guys need some wheel advice for track days.

I currently have a 330s with the 19" prodrive gt2 wheels, the tread on them is fine but I am not sure if I want to hammer them on a track day or two then have to replace them as 19" tyres wont be cheap,

Thing that i am concerned about is when I drove a standard 08 sti with 17's the handling didn't feel as sharp as with the 19's but that was on standard springs, so not sure if it was a alloy size, tyre choice, spring difference or a combination of all 3 that made it feel that way. I know the overall thought is the hatch has a loose feel to the steering but i am not sure which of route to go down

I was thinking of buying a used set of 17" sti wheels or getting some after market 18's for track work, all though with the above statement I was thinking the 17's as the tyre cost would be cheaper over the 18's or for a similar cost to 18" tyres I am sure I could get some more track focused tyres such as the r888's for the 17" option

any way to those that have been in the same situation or similar or who have hit the track what did you do, which would you recommend as the best idea

I think my Air con Pump has packed in it is not spinning and I am not getting really cold air out of vents are these known to fail or could it be a relay or something any info would be appreciated.

Very rare to suffer a failure of an aircon pump. I'd get the refrigerant level checked as I suspect its low and the pressure switch will not allow the system to activate as it's not safe to do so

Cool Rob thanks for info will get it checked and let you know if it is the aircon gas which is low.

you deffo dont wanna be running 19's on the track anyway, you should be able to get a set of STI 17's at bargain money

17's with some nice sticky rubber will be more then adequate, as i say for budget track days these are easy to grab a bargain on ebay.

i have a set in my garage that have done 25 miles tops as they were removed for my 18" wheels which are shod in the SO2's rubber

many others did the same and i always see em on ebay.

i missed out on a gold set the other week , set of 4 for £100 all with new rubber!!! worth it for the tyres alone!!

I want to sell my Rota 18" gra wheels and buy gt1 which I think is on the 011 model, I have a 09 sti hatch, are the gt1 wheels 18" or 19"?

I got a set of spare 17" hatch alloys for track days ( currently got winter tyres on 'em! ) , with new tyres for £400 from a garage near lancaster, Derek on Hatch forum put me on to them. They do rally cars so have loads of spare std wheels lying around.

Mind, 2 wheels had great chunks out of them and tyres more than half worn.... so had to pop up and change them for the "delivery mileage only" wheels!

hey guys i need some help, i thought to my self i wil do my spark pulgs, well i failed out side my house lol, whats the way u go about it? cant get the back coil packs out, im thinking engine mounts off jack enigne up?

Official line is to rotate the rear coilpacks 180 degrees to remove them.

I'm currently looking to replace my snapped STI Splitter with either a replica STI one or the HT Autos one... looking for some advice from your experiences...

I can get a replica one for £90, however it is Fibreglass and I've been told fibreglass is not strong enough and will snap the second it touches a kerb or speed bump.

the HT one is polyurethane and apparently a lot stronger than fibreglass.

Does anyone have any decent pictures of the HT Splitter fitted to the car? does it make the car a lot lower than the standard STI splitter, or is the height about the same?

What’s peoples experience of fibreglass splitters vs the Polyurethane one? have you had any "incidents" with either one?

I'm hesitant to get the HT one because there is a lot of speed bumps round here, I usually avoid these routes but don’t want to keep scraping the splitter if its lower than the standard one.

Also, I'm not sold on the STI one because of the fibreglass and how brittle it apparently is..

I'm going to get front bumper sprayed to rid it of stone chips and thought it would be a good opportunity to get the splitter painted too.

Splitter, say away from Fibreglass, my hawk one was similar and whilst it looked surperb it was a brittle as hell and after a kerb incident it had to be repaired and repainted.

I'd also stay clear of painting it, the beauty of the Poly ones is that they look nice in black and stones just bounce off of them, if painted they still bounce off but tend to take a little paint with them!

I had a STI rep on mine and now have one similar to HT and I'd say its prob 20/25mm lower than the STI and certainly catches more!

Problem I find with the HT style lip is not actually the depth so much its also where they protrude further from the front so drinving down a steep incline they catch sooner than the STI lip which sits flush with the bumper.

STI one isnt fibre glass

i have the STI one and the additional lower lip, which is just an expensive piece of bendy GRP

but it does the job and takes the brunt of the front end scrapes, enuff to let u no the scraping sound is not good and to stop or slow down!!!

Mark, think he means the replica STI one he is looking at is fibreglass not the OE.

Thanks, thats really helpful.

My drive has a relatively steep incline and the STI splitter only just missed it, so by the sounds of it the HT one will touch, considering its lower and longer.

What is the original STI Splitter made from? is it as tough as the HT one?
