Came from the state's mate go on eBay.com and search v limited 2 or the one I got was a bason r think it was around 60-70 plus 30 shipping and then you will get stung for importing tax which was 14 quid. Much cheaper than sourcing something here

Have had my 3/4 plate on for about 6 years and got my first pull on it a few weeks back, £60, lovely, and annoying thing was that if it was missing altogether I would have got a producer!!

Have ordered a full size plate that I will cut down, may even end up shorter than current one!

Is MesaSat working as normal yet?? Mine has been knackered for a while now, with no useful info or updates from Octotelematics!!!!!

well I didn't get a text to say my battery was low.

Looks legal but don't you also need the suppliers name of the plate at the bottom, dealer, Halfords etc?

The British Standard sets out the physical characteristics of the number plate. This includes visibility, strength and reflectivity.
The British Standard also requires each number plate to be permanently and legibly marked with the following information:
  • The British Standard number (currently BS AU 145d)
  • The name, trademark or other means of identification of the manufacturer or component supplier (The company that made the plate)
  • Name and postcode of the supplying outlet.
if the above is not on the plate it is illegal to use and may result in a fine or the vehicle not passing its mot

number plate age is pre number plate rulings as it gets swapped off all my previous cars... going back to 1991 when I first got the private plate.

it's still has BS number on it and is no problem at MOT either.

It's not the age of the plate but the age of the vehicle it's on that dictates the ruling. For example, it's illegal to have silver digits on a black background - even if the plate is old enough to be legal in this format - unless the vehicle it's going on is pre Jan '73.

Just been reading the current regs on www.direct.gov.uk.

For any vehicle registered after September 2001 the number plate must be permanently and legibly marked with:
1 - the British Standard number (currently BS AU 145d)
2 - the name, trademark or other means of identification of the manufacturer or component supplier
3 - the name and postcode of the supplying outlet.

I wouldn't be overly concerned mate, your's isn't taking the **** in size which is what inevitably gets you tugged.

Haha, am determined as family grows, DIY gets bigger etc that I will not be forced to buy an MPV or estate like most of my friends!!!

Keep trying to see if I can get away with a 911 but that I think is a little too far!
