08/09 Hatches, Stand up and show yourselves!!!
Does anyone else have a really rattly boot area in their hatch? I think it's the stupid retractable parcel shelf. I've taken it off and tried to pad bits out but to no avail. I've got next to no cabin rattles which I'm impressed with but the damn rattling from the rear is driving me nuts
in my 09 330S I had this, rather annoying.
I did as ABX suggested, pulled off the boot lid plastic trim and added some packing / padding to stop the hard plastic ratling against the metal frame. Worked reasonably well.
Other thing was the seat belt, the part that provides centre rear seat ... if the metal bit just left dangling it rattles against the hard plastic trim.
Rear parcel shelf can be a bit noisy, just needs a bit of care fitting back in, my noise did not disappear with removing it.

Salsa, people are fitting it this way to overcome the rattling that's all, it's not the correct position but does seem to be a good compromise between operation and a noise reduction.
I'm not into bodykits but I'm loving this rear bumper

No doubt I will see some of you around and as much as I say I won't be back we all know that it's a bug and we get drawn back in.

The H&S ( or other brands ) are designed as a system so should work better used together. Also may well have been tested to measure reduction in back pressure, increase in power / torque etc.
And my previous & curent H&S exhausts can be wider bore to help flow for those after higher power.
H&S a bit noisy for me tho', I had an extra mid box fitted after.
Otherwise, unless you need that last bit of performance and the exhaust is the limiting factor, you'll be OK with a home made one, when set up / mapped in!
If you are just after more noise, fine, just map it!
If mapping, add anything else that needs mapping at same time ... CAIK etc.

If anyone is considering this, I would say the absolute easiest way is to simply bridge the nearside reversing light over to the offside (to give a pair of reversing lights which, with the "spot" LED white bulbs, are awesome) and, then, for the new lamps that replace the reflectors, bring the wires to the towbar wiring connector that's under the boot mat/jack handle tray on the nearside and connect to that: fog and tail light wires are there all ready to be wired to
I'm trying to track down the mating connectors to make this even easier, but I added crimp terminals to the wires and pushed them in to the towbar connector, then taped it all up. Does the job, but not the utmost in elegance lol.

Bit of a "revival" here...but bought these to fit to my wife's hatch WRX a good long while ago, along with the LED bulbs for reversing lights and finally got around to wiring them in today.

Hi
As it happens, I've now sold my 330S
Do you want to buy my clear rear fog lamp, I also have one of the fancy and very bright red led's(featured on this thread) that I'll throw in too.
Edit: I've actually got a few bulbs that I went through until I was happy, so you can have the lot
Say £60 plus delivery?
I also have a set of exhaust trims (never fitted by the way) if anyone is interested?
Cheers

I take it you mean the chrome finishers that bolt onto the bottom of the bumper?
Cheers

Yeah, the chrome finishers.
Got a price I was happy with in the end
These things seem to retail at £130.
£100 plus postage seem fair enough?
