I run a bugeye WRX with dump valve and jap exhaust with high flow cat, i use the car everyday and run it on V-Power, I get 250 miles to a full tank, to be fair i've had some fun with Civics but the Subaru is clearly faster as long as u gear it right, under 3k revs there is no power, hit 4k its a whole new story!!

I'm aware that until the Hawkeye, new ages (particularly STI models I think) did suffer from problems with rear suspension struts.
can you describe the wheel bearing fault,

my 8 year old wrx, has a judder problem at speed and no one can seem to figure out why

Doubtful that's anything to do with a wheel bearing mate. That manifests itself in a noisy rather than juddery fashion and you'll notice it more at low speed.

Judder problems could be down to wheel balancing or maybe even bushes or (at a guess) front droplinks?

Have a 2002 sti prodrive style remapeed to 330 bhp , needed a lamba sensor replacing and the leaking fuel pipe hose under the inlet manifold and a new exeedy uprated clutch , car is a dream to drive , paid £6000 for mine was advertised at £7500 haggled him down buyers market this was september last year , would definitley get the sti over the wrx as it comes with the more robust 6 speed already fitted , larger injectors , larger brakes brembos , larger turbo than the wrx , car will just need a decat and remap to take car from standard 265 bhp to around 330 bhp , larger rear spoiler side skirts and embroided interior .

happy hunting there a lots to choose from so haggle

Standard for standard i don t think there s much in them-in the dry at least,in the wet you ll struggle to get the Civic off the line any where near as fast as the Impreza but a few mods to the one will obviously do enough to turn it in that cars favour

i test drove a type r before i got my scooby, and to be honest i never really liked it. found it quite tiring to drive(after about 15 mins) it was quite rev hungry to see any kind of power. also with the scooby being a turbo, it is much easier to tune.

I agree there as i ve done the usual exhausts ,filter mods to the Civic but if i want anymore now it ll start being a grand here and there as the next logical step would be KPRO (remapable ECU)coupled with a full exhaust system, and then either cams etc or getting it supercharged/turboed!either way not cheap especially when you add a slip diff in to help control the extra power! At a guess 4-5 k to see around 300bhp!Where as a lot of you were saying if i just remap the scoob with the exhaust and filter i should see similar results
Although a supercharged CTR does sound evil
