Obviously you lot haven't been up here recently. We went into town last Friday and didn't see one fight. There weren't enough people out to start one!
Blah Bar at 10pm on a Friday night and there were 6 of us in I kid you not! The older pubs were busy with older customers but the fancy modern ones were dead!Everyone knows someone that's been in a fight somewhere on a night out regardless of where you go in the UK, most of the time they haven't happened when something as simple as spilling a drink has occurred either!
My mate (a copper from Birmingham) was surprised at how friendly everyone was, said it's completely different to what he's used to back home.
Where's the wedding? We got married at Brooklands, I would have suggested that for staying over. Their chop is rather good too.
Points well made Flaps. Just cos it is "oop north" then people want to have a go. Slough, Bracknell, Swindon, Luton, all places that are just as bad if not worse on a weekend night. As for the "MINORS" strike, not sure when that was but people have long memories as far as the MINERS strike goes, unless you were there at the time then you can't even begin to understand it.
Sara, go to the wedding with an open mind, you never know, you might actually have a good time.
