Once again the Daily Mash says it much better than anyone else:
Julian Cook, from Hatfield, said: "I'm relieved to see that after all these years the Tories can still put on a show. It is nothing less than a masterclass in taking the absolute ****.
"You've got these petty, lower-middle class Labour MPs watching their wide-screen television sets and putting plastic covers on their three-piece suites, but it takes the solid brass nuts of an old Tory to claim for moat-widening."
He added: "If we are going to be governed by utter scum, it should at least be scum with a bit of style."

Interesting Quote:-
"New Labour MPs, with their home improvements and their little property empires use the expenses system to get away from the working classes as fast as they possibly can. Tory MPs with their moats and country homes and porticoes (whatever the hell they are) have already got away from the working classes as fast as they possibly could and now use their expenses to shore up the defences"

MPs' expenses: David Cameron forces senior Tory MPs to pay back money - Telegraph
" ... Mr Cameron called in members of the shadow cabinet and asked those who have been shown to have claimed extravagantly to repay the expenses money. Tory sources said that none had “fought” the leader’s request and all agreed to repay the money ..."
If Call Me Dave can get his MPs to pay the dosh back then that'll go a long way towards wrong-footing Flash over this affair. Not that that takes much doing .....

History may well show that he actually did ................... the recession is over, we are all spending again, the world copied the UK Government and is pulling itself around. Let's remember that the Tories are on record as saying 'Do Nothing'

Hmmm uses the phrase Flash, then accuses the PM of copying
Let us refrain from even attempting to paint any of this sorry bunch as the 'good guys'. Cameron is only acting with political expedience, which if the PM did would be immediately leapt upon by you lot.
We need to get beyond this story, press the reset button and move on, for the good of our democracy and parliament.

Make no mistake, and I've said it until I'm blue in the face, I will NOT be voting Labour!
I will not be voting Tory either as I believe that they are, by far, worse.
If need be I will spoil my paper by writing across it 'None of the Above' ... but I will register my vote, people died so we could have a free vote.

As someone who's career is in corporate restructuring & insolvency, I call "absolute bullsh!t" on your claim that Brown or his cabinet came up with anything better than "doing nothing".
VAT reductions cost many retailers more to administer than they gained in sales, for a start.
And I should say that my view on this comes from working at the coal face, so to speak, not some drivel as misreported by the gutter press picked up and regurgitated by a so called rocket scientist. Or whatever your "job" allegedly is..
What History will probably show is that show that someone woefully out of touch with the reality of the situation laid claim to being a "savior" with no evidence whatsoever...
if people are spending again, its because they are starting to accept that its not actually as bad as the media, and to an extent, the government, would have us believe.

I didn't say it mattered - at least to me as I think they are all troughing bar stewards ..... What I meant was that Call Me Dave would gain a small political and moral advantage over Flash.
Jeez - have you never grasped the concept of reading between the lines ...??

hmmmmm..... I can not see the evidence of that.....
Basically it all comes down to obtaining political leverage.... Cameron got in there first with the apology and also with making his senior team agree to all pay back the extravagance......this casts him in a better light than GB
