I was watching the BBC News thismorning and apparently £100k has been paid back already by MP's. It really is a drop in the ocean.

I wish i could just pay back £16k with the blink of an eye though. Nice life if you can have it.

Good, I hope there's more legal proceedings for those who have committed fraud. I'd love to see biker-bitch Blears in clink surrounded by tattooed tuppence-lickers. She might like it too, who knows ?

I still maintain that since we can no longer have any confidence in all those MP's, that parliament should be dissolved and a general election held so that we can start again. Those caught fiddling should be prosecuted and lose their jobs with no monetary compensation whatsoever.

how anyone can say it was a mistake to claim £16K for a repaid mortgage is just beyond reality. And that sentiment applies to all the others!

But it's OK. You probably don't know any of them so there's not really a recession on .....

I look forward to the day 'pete' gets fired from his cushy public sector non-job (whatever it is). What goes around comes around, and there's a lot of dead wood out there that needs pruning back.

Concerning criminal prosecutions. We need criminal investigations into Morley(deliberate fraud), Blears (tax evasion), Maples etc etc

I am prosecuted if I commit the above and no doubt imprisoned.

It is important that these people are brought to book for these blatant crimes

The country is being supported with borrowed money, as in the previous 12 years, and on extra printed money, with the new name "Quantative Easing"!!! I wonder how many advisors we are paying for who are there just to think up new names in an effort to hide what is really happening.

What we should be worried about is of course the jobs losses, yet to increase beyond all estimates, and the inflation which will surely follow what they are doing! That is when it will start to hurt!

If they had saved during the apparent good years instead of throwing our cash away, we would be in a far better position.

I think you are being a bit soft on them. Not so much "perks" as downright theft under false pretences!

Agreed re Morley, however Blears was tax avoidance and all perfectly legal. i think it did more damage to pay it back as the average man now thinks she did wrong. I'm no Labour fan, however she used a legitimate tax avoidance measure. the two statuses (Tax and Commons) are linked in name rather than legal standing.

First one has gone...

BBC NEWS | Politics | Tory MP quits post over expenses

ouch!!

Do you think any one of the scummy New Labour lot will have the courage to do the same thing - and stand up to be counted in public like that?? Could Mental show strong and decisive leadership like Cameron does instead of the usual bluster?

Could he hell....

Nothing more to add - except maybe - of course it's not true It's as inaccurate and misleading as everything else he posts.

Ooo look - a party political broadcast from the integrity party. On the BBC no less. Unusually democratic for them....

Best way to put it is that I was underlining what you said.
