wierdness in ESC
#61
Alright Guys and gals,
Just thought as being a newbie I'd make a comment,
I have been reading a few threads over the past couple of weeks where there has been disputes and dissagreements, Not really taken much notice as it doesnt affect me and probabally never will, These dispute would never stop me from attending a meet nor introducing myself to anyone for the first time in this club.
Its easier to say something when typing on a forum than to someones face, as is taking someones comment out of context as there are no real emotions in script, This can lead to someone being very angry and a bust up next time they meet will be unavoidabke, This is life as we know today due to keyboard warriors and so on,
I Find Scoobynet as a whole to be very cliquey and i personally think its just carries over into ESC,
I think someone said that if everyone had the same veiws it would be a very boring world which i totally agree with, ( even though we all drive subaru's) LOL
life is too short to worry about what someone said to someone elses brothers cousins sister, and there are more important things in life,
I hope to meet lots of you in the summer at a meet and will be just as nervous to meet you guys as i would introduce myself to a different group of people,

As for saying hi, why would I? As you've already said, we're not exactly best friends And yes I can be a bit quiet around people I don't know-always have been!
The sarky comment had to be made, any chance to made a dig at a Ford and I'm there

Id like a few or so words if i may.....
This is a chat/discussion forum is it not ?? Well sometimes this does have to be the place to air your views and feelings especialy when it involves the ESC as a club.
Being apart of the so called knitting circle ( actually i quiet like that makes me laugh ) id like to say that we all sit together as were friends in and out of the club, an due to busy hetic lives sometimes thats the only time we've seen eachother that month so we catch up. I for one love to meet new people and if you know me you'll know i can talk the hind legs off a donkey.
In any club or even groups of friends you see or talk to some more that others, its just a fact of life.
I would also like to say, i sometimes think that if a matter cant be cleared up in person its best it happen here than at a meet when it could turn violent. We have alot of children who attend most meets who would be more then upset to witness anything kick off.
To all new members we are a friendly lot and have great times. Im Jooooooooooooo or just Jo if you like if you see me come say hello im always up for a chat.

lol at this thread. just my 2p's worth:
Rob (gangsta & a few others) you keep refering to the ESC now being a "clicky" group. This may happen now, but it also was happening 7 years ago!!!
I came to first scooby meets - under the name of FFC around 2001/2002. My brother and i went on our first "scooby event", believe it was castle combe 2002, spent the day being ignored by everyone that we convoyed up with and ended up coming home early and driving the long distance back home on our own.
So yes clicky groups do happen, but since this day, i didnt sit there and cry about it...just got on with things and low and behold some people actually started to like me lol
We all share the shame enthuisasm of scoobs and look at events like castle combe / brands hatch everyone DOES talk and have a good day.
Pub meets have, are and will be slightly different, you will get individual groups of people meeting month in month out....that's life!
