This i can understand, cos as an experiment it kinda makes sense!
Why has the valenzetti equation which featured heavily in the first 3 series, as did "the numbers" which make up said equation, ceased to be important?
The whole first 3 seires were based on the numbers, now they dont seem to be as significant, or mentioned at all?
Im starting to get pissed off now, series one and two were ace, i was well into it, what the sations were, who the others were, the numbers, the equation, 108 minutes etc etc, series 3 was a bit mad but quite good, now it just seems JJ Abrams has lost interest in lost and fcuked off to do films like colverleaf, and his crew are just making it up as they go along!
And was anyone dissapointed to find out jacob wasnt an all powerful person so in touch with the islands powers he knows its "thoughts", but just another "other".
Ive lost interest in it now, i got no significant answers from last night that i havent already guessed, and i dont think the writers have them either, hence the massive gap between series.
Lost could have been the best tv series of all time, but they ****ed it up good and proper!

The polar bears were brought there by the dharma initiative to see how they would cope in a habitat completely different to their natural one!

Does "J" actually exist. We've seen "J" mentioned and "J" has been revered by Ben, but we had not actually seen "J" himself. Christian spoke on behalf of him, well, maybe he didn't but I digress.
We now know "J" does exist and has done for some time. We don't know what he is though, and of course, why he visited other people at various times.

It could also be the same way that Christian was raised from the dead, which would make sense as I don't think Christian was speaking for Jacob, more like he was speaking for whomever this other chap is (Jacob's brother?), trying to fool Locke and get him to do his bidding.
Pfft, who am I kidding, I've no idea wtf is going on

What pissed me off the most about last nights finale, was the fact that I had already said to the mrs last week that they will probably end it with big, white light!
I know we all moan about it, but come on, if you are still watching it after 6 years, you DO actually like being constantly teased......making you always come back for more.

In other words it was making loads of money when the producers didnt expect it to take off the way it did, so they decided to extend it to make even more money.
That was a mistake, it led to "filler episodes" where **** all really happened, and the story was padded out in the name of money!
They should have ran with the original 5 series plan, and finished it properly, then it might have made the tv series hall of fame, it would have finished by now, JJ could have got the recognition he deserved for such a great tv sreies, then he should have gone to hollywood to make movies, not leave his greatest project half way through, then wonder why its losing its fanbase by the week!
The next series had better be good or lost will go down as the greatest anti climax in tv history!

The whole plot seems to be about pitching one side v another and then showing you another viewpoint. Last nights episodes certainly re-inforced that in my view with Jacob and A.N.Other sitting on the beach having a conversation where they are clearly on different "sides" and rehearsing an argument that have clearly had many times before.

I believe A.N Other is the alive Locke, and he had Ben klll Jacob. At the start of the final episode he said to Jacob " Do you know how much I want tio kill you? "
I think, for whatever reason, Jacob and A N Other were unable to kill each other, and this was his way of doing it.

Its crazy that i have been watching it for 6 years and still don't know what half of it is about
i felt like season 5 started answering a lot of the questions compared with the other series, but it does not seam to answer the questions that i want
how did Ethan have super powers?
black smoke monster = wtf
is Kate good in bed ?
etc etc

The statue is of Anubis, the Egyptian God of death. Also, a picture of Anubis was shown in the temple where the black smoke came from. Thus, the black smoke is Anubis, the God of death. We have seen the smoke monster appear in the form of Eko's brother, Yemi, Alex, and as Christian. It can appear in the form of anyone whose dead body is on the island. Now, drumroll, the smoke monster is appearing as John Locke. the real John Locke is indeed dead.
Anubis is also the guy we saw at the begining on the beach with Jacob. Jacob is also a God, and normally God's can't kill each other. The loophole is that apparently only a mortal man is able to kill a God. This is why people don't get to see God until they are dead (when they go to heaven). This is why Ben never got to see Jacob. Anubis figured this out. First, Anubis tried to use the form of Christian to convince people on the island to do things against Jacob's will and change history. But Jacob kept rebalancing things back to the way they were supposed to happen (by power of persuasion when visiting everyone off the island, for example). So Aubis came up with Plan B, to pose as John Locke, then appear as Alex to convince Ben to kill Jacob.
Why does Anubis want to kill Jacob? Because Jacob is RA, God of life. Richard Alpert is his son, perhaps (initials R.A. or RA). We literally saw Jacob bring Locke back to life after he fell out of the window. With Jacob dead, Anubis can now alter history however he pleases and kill whomever he wants. He can again rule as God of death. This is the ultimate bad ending. We're doomed!
But wait, Juliet just got the bomb to explode, which will mean everything that happened on the show, including the killing of Jacob, never happened. She saved the day. In fact, everything done by the Losties for the whole series was a component leading up to this. And it was Jacob who led to them all coming to the island. So they all played a part in "keeping balance to the force."!

Correct, the other locke would know where Jacob lived, but he probably did not want to give the game away. Richard and Illana's people are part of the same group, hence the code phrase (in latin, equates to "He who will watch over us all") to identify him as a friend. They wanted to show Richard the body, at which point he'd then know something was amiss, but it's a bit late as he's shown Locke to Jacob.
What I want to check is who out of the oceanic six, Jacob actually physically touched, as I there seem to be a few lingering shots when he touched people, or didn't, for example, a little too much of a lingering shot when he handed Jack the candy bar. I think that it'll come down to whomever he touched or visited will be somehow safe, probably from the bomb explosion.

Ahh, AN Other would know where Jacob lived, but Locke wouldn't! He had to give the impression of being Locke.

Oh, and what is in the Guitar case that Jacob gave to Hurley. It's got to be something of pivotal importance, some way to revive himself? He's obviously putting things in place to cause the new Locke's plan not to go exactly as he wants.

oh I am sooo glad didn't bother to watch it
I knew it would be one garden path after the other, no resolution ever, until the scriptwriters can't get any richer , then a wholly unsatisfactory conclusion

Yes I do read DarfUFO, was having a quick glance at the forums there to see if the Anubis and Ra thing is mentioned, as that seems to be where I'd expect to find such stuff. There is a debate as to who the statue actually represents. Initially it was thought it might be the Goddess of Love/Fertility, as posited by Michael Emerson (Ben). Have we seen a full frontal view of the statue? I'm not sure we have, and that could be key.
I think they were saying it could be Anubis, or Soteth (something like that), or another one. There are a couple that have jackal like heads and Ankh's in their hand, or hands.
