Leave a note on your car which states...
As annoying as it can be, unless there is an official restriction applied to the area, they have no right and should just grow a big enough pair to accept that sometimes life isn't as cosy as you'd like.
Oh, and buy a £200 $h!tter for the commute
If any damage occurs to this vehicle whilst legally parked on the public highway under full compliance with all associated laws and regulations, then similar damage may occur to every car and house in the immediate vicinity, repeatedly for a considerable time !

the same residents would complain if the council introduced ressy parking -- total; fvcking brainless idiots
I lived in C London for 40 years and had to put up with commuters parking outside my house--- but hey they had valid tax discs and had every right to park there
in the end problem was solved by ressy parking -- but still some of the neigbhours complianed about that -- *****
if you want to park outside your house -- buy a fvcking bigger one with a grarage

In fairness, not everybody can afford to just buy a bigger house with a garage/drive, or if space allows, even afford to build one. To me, that doesn't mean you lose the right to park in your own street.
It's one thing when people twist that they can't park directly outside their house (whether it be down to visitors or whatever), but I can certainly understand people being irritated if they can't park anywhere near home. Yes, everyone on the road legally (tax etc), can park where they want if not restricted, by law, but using someones street as a free all day car park because you don't want to pay to park somewhere else, is if nothing else selfish. If the street is dead, fine, but I would imagine most people doing this sort of thing, doesn't know that for sure, if they even care.
BTW, I'm not referring to this specific incident, just speaking generally. Oh, and regardless of my view on this, I certainly would never condone threats of vandalism, or general rudeness as a way of dealing with it.

Do people not think about these things when purchasing a house/flat? ...if they're really that bothered why not apply to have their kerb dropped?
We have the opposite problem ...once all the parked cars leave, the average speed goes up by about 50%!

and people have every right to be irritated, but it doesn't alter the fact that with valid tax you can park anywhere
its just whooly thinking idiocy to think otherwise
