Another thing about this years show - can someone explian what was the point of Kelly Brook being on some of the shows.....?

They had a good format of 3 judges - so it was best of 3. Then all of a sudden it was 4 judges - so you could have a tie (2 for and 2 against).

And why Kelly Brook....? On a talent show is she some sort of international talent scout? I can understand say Michael Grade - but why her...?

The show is to entertain whilst: -

a) Getting loads of viewers and advertising revenue

b) Making a few bob on telephone calls

c) Making Cowell even richer

I think Susan Boyle should switch to belly dancing and that belly dancer they had should be brought back to close the final with a pole dancing spectacular .

That should bring in a few more viewers.

Piers Morgan was/is important to Simon Cowell. He was booted from the paper for the fake hostage pictures and was unemployed and almost unemployable by anybody else but someone like Cowell. Morgan is also outspoken and brash and ultimately has done nothing but brown nose Cowell since he was given the job. This takes a lot of heat off Cowell and helps his persona by having an allie. Morgan is no more than a PR man for Cowell and paid well for it so both are happy.

All these shows are basically revenue makers for the production company - wonder how keen they would be to keep making them if they had to give a freephone number to vote on ?

Its like the daytime TV competitons, win a grand, but pay £1 to enter, and they know 5000 people are going to ring in, so it makes them money.

Do think BGT is a bit more interesting than the X Factor though as you do get to see some more varied acts than just average singers competing to see who has the most dying relatives they can dedicate their performance to.
