That's true, but you've missed (or proven) the point. There are other options to the BNP. Just having "British" in their name ("Durrr, I'm British, I'll vote for them!" ) isn't really enough.

Err, they may have a point!
But that doesn't mean they desrve your vote.
Vote Green or lib dem instead.
Just don't vote for the fascist thug party!
The brainwashing worked on you then!

There should definately be a "none of the above" option.

Anyone vote for silly expenses? I know i didn't.

An option like that would force the parties to come back with a proposition that the majority can agree on instead of them [politicians] claiming an implied consent to do whatever they like.

You always have the option of spoiling your ballot paper to express displeasure at your candidates. Vote for all of them!

If you spoil your paper no one of consequence will even see it.

No one will ever see my ballot if I vote Labour, either, but the number of spoilt papers will be recorded and announced along with the votes for each candidate. OK, some muppet might still be elected, but if the number of spoilt papers was high enough, THEY might take notice. Just Not voting, no-one will take notice.

Interesting article in The Times yesterday:

1. The ballot paper is so long that by the time you get half way down you put a cross against anyone just so you can get home before it gets dark. Not good for parties with names starting with letters near the end of the alphabet, and I believe one of the reasons why ZZ Top never stood for election in the UK.

2. The number of parties with similar names; Liberal Democrats, Liberal Party, Libertas, means that some could vote for the wrong party, undermining the democratic process. Although I would argue that those that cannot understand a ballot paper should not be allowed the vote in the first place.

Conservative for me I think. Obviously very established and organised party, and I agree with most of their policies. UKIP would probably be second choice and I can see a lot of people voting for them with things like putting an end to mass immigration, but I'm unsure on the totally anti-EU thing really. IMO there should be less EU-influence, but I don't agree with backing out of it altogether.

They only advocate backing out of the socialist political union - you know the 75% of UK laws being made by enelected officials in Brussels and the £40 million a day the UK pays just to be 'in the club' freedom of movement across borders etc. Not cutting ties like free trade (the useful bit)

Their agenda is clear for all to see, get us out of the EU!

It's not a hidden agenda, but they are as bad (if not worse) as the other partys at spinning statistics about the EU.

Some of us so called mugs want out of the EU but stiill are keen to trade with the EU the way many, many other countries do, nothing wrong with that, oh and who is the mug, the one that votes for one of the exisiting parties, none of which want us out of europe or are not going to admit or make a stand on that.

We do not have to be part of the EU to trade or work with it, there is life outside the EU!

And how pray tell do you know that UKIP are as bad if not worse that the others - proof please, put up or shut up, you are just great at coming out with your 'matter of facts' but please back up

No the mugs are the ones who come on here a write UKIP propaganda verbatim, as demonstrated by UB earlier.

Wanting out of the EU is a completely valid postion to hold, I'm not the greatest fan of the EU myself.

But as I said earlier let's have more facts and less nonsense about bendy-bananas

No it's all fine and dandy popularlist stuff, exactly the kind of thing I'd expect you to support. I suspect that life is a bit more nuanced than this though.

So the right thing to do is not to vote for them in case they are or migh be lying is it. Well thank Dog that we have so many other trustworthy parties and with a long standing history of doing what they say to vote for then

Maybe politics needs a shake up and maybe people are sick of trusting the untrustworthy (in some cases) we will all know how people feel tomorrow when the votes are cast and counted.

I do think NL will get a well deserved pasting!

I think they will get a well deserved pasting too.

And yes i agree politics does need a shake up.

BTW I will not vote for any of them as I don't think there is a party right now that I agree with

I was pointing out what they are standing for election on as there seemed some confusion. At least I know because I have bothered to find out and can make an informed decision.

Why does that make me a 'mug'?
