AJ regards himself as a Marxist... therefore he is a Marxist...... did that help?

Thing is unclebuck is right in a way.

In a time of economic uncertainty the current political instability is not helping other countries and businesses have confidence in the UK. If Brown really cared about the country he would call an election or at least stand down as leader.

The very fact he seems happy to string what is now an inevitable demise out as long as possible shows once again that he is only interested in himself and his pocket.

You clearly don't understand the quite huge difference between regards and regarded

Why is our governments implosion (as you put it) fantastically funny?

I have always voted Conservative and will continue to vote Conservative... as such I rejoice what is happening to the labour Government.

But just to make this clear... I do not find what is happening to the British people funny at all.

He may, genuinely, believe he is the best person to lead the UK out of recession? There are signs that it is happening and what he has done thus far is working.

He knows that the Tories have declared that they would do nothing to intervene, he thinks intervention is the key.

Not much point debating politics with someone who can only see one side of the issue though is there, but thanks for finally clearing that up. It means that I can simply ignore your comments on politics from now on

The trouble is that there are about 30 million who disagree with him

Being serious you may be right, but the problem is one of confidence, confidence in the UK and doing business here and right now that is plummeting - another 3 months of this and what green shoots we do have will have been killed off completely.

I'm really not sure that green shoots would be killed off .... what we have is a Leader who will not give in, will not be pressured off course.

I think business will carry on building and growing .... they don't think about Brown to be honest. They depend upon the conditions put in place by the Government and they are looking pretty good at the moment.

I bet Obama lost a bit of respect for Flash when he was booed by his own people in Normandy!

Obama is a true socialist but I reckon he and the rest of the socialist leaders will soon be less than impressed with NL since they cannot be considered a real Labour party anyway!

Not to mention Brown's **** up of calling Omaha Beach 'Obama Beach' when making his keynote speech, thus making a complete idiot of himself on the global stage in a way that George Bush would have been proud of.

Yes, Obama is a true socialist, that's why he's standing by while one of his men, Steve Rattner, is pushing through a raft of measures that are going to make it possible for two banks that have already had $6 TRILLION of aid, to NOT lose a cent of the $6 BILLION they leant to GM..........and the money, it's coming out of the GM pension and health plan:mad;

The real reason that he is still the leader of course is that if he did stand down, there would have to be a general election and his party know they would be decimated. They are hanging on to ensure that they get their year's salary, and all those obscene expenses and resettlement grants as well as £40K winding up grant and the maximum pension possible! Means a lot of cash to those who have said they will stand down at the next election because they have been stealing the taxpayers' money!

You must be a man in a hurry Martin, going by this post!

And how can you call the post you were trying to refer to a "rant"? It was purely a statement! Or were you scraping the barrel again?

LOL i would describe most of your posts on politics as rants Les, they basically all say the same things, just sometimes in different orders...you know the kind of thing

Just look back at 95% of your several thousand posts you'll soon get what I'm talking about
