Scoobs as towing cars......

pete,
all you have demanded is that you bend over for your dealer while he sorts you out
mine is aftermarket, lockable and £000's cheaper than subaru's- im happy to pay for class but i aint bending over for no one!

On MY96 and I had never had any rubbing... just fitted MY99 wheels and the other weekend with 5 in it I heard a rubbing...over some big bumps.
Haven't tried towing since fitting the wheels... cheers for the advance warning that it might though Pete.
I shall take it for a spin before leaving for my next 1000miles trek with my trailer tent.. might have to stick the old wheels back on quick before I leave.
As for bending for the dealer - even my dealer said very quietly that i would be better going to the trailer specialist up the road for my towbar!!!!!

I'm almost convinced - keep the comments coming! then I can take the 12g to my old Saab turbo that curently does the job (it'll save insuring two cars as well!)
I'd love to know the limits on towing for scoobs if anyone has them. Also where's likely to be a cheap place to mailorder a towbar from seeing as I'm on the isle of man & don't have much choice of where to get one locally.
It's to tow a 16' Fletcher boat by the way but I have no idea what it weighs.......

For all those who say its no problem - I tow a 1000kg Folding Camper, keep the noseweight well under 75kg and the rear wheel arches rub on the tyres, EVERYTIME!!
I practically have to have a negative noseweight to keep a clearance of say 10mm - I looked into fitting those spring assisters .................. but couldnt find any springs on my car!!!!
Mine is a MY00 Wagon - anyone had the same 'bottoming-out' problems and overcome them?
Pete
Edited to say:- Buy the proper Subaru removeable one, go for class - if you have Gold Wheels it doesnt matter - its already got no class!!
