i love to see the unions reason for not accepting, they realy are bunch of feckwits arn't they.

place i work for has let 10% of its workforce go, that 1800 people, the rest get no pay rise at all, and they moan about 6% they realy are trying to destroy companies arn't they.

Unions seem to still want a Flat Rate increase.

The Union in question suggested a 3% Pay Rise across the board and 3% to be earned through performance .... giving 6% for the best performers and a 3% Floor for everyone.

Now, that's all very well and good .... but why should someone who does not perform, has days sick, refuses responsibility, etc. get anything at all? They shouldn't!

Surely by those criteria people who spend all day every day posting imaginary sh*te on the internet should get nothing as well

They are a waste of time, space and company bandwidth

why would someone as high up as you have to settle for a poxy 6% pay increase? and why would a company offer a rise of any kind to a chap in his 80's?

Do you live in the UK? Genuine question as we are suffering a recession, even high flyers have to make sacrifices .... in the circumstances I consider 6% to be pretty fair all things considered.

And plenty of 80 year olds are working - their experience in certain industries cannot be bought, generally - to keep this knowledge requires incentives.

Lo Tel
So you can't answer that question either then!

You certainly attract a wide section of people onto your threads Pete, even that fellow who has forgotten what a fool he made of himself before has crawled out from somewhere.

Just what deluded, self-important world DO you live in, Les?

Huge swathes of SN members no longer post in no small part due to the vacuous, isnsipid dirge typified by your own posts. How does that make you feel? Who does that make the real fool? I swear, this place will be all the better for the day you find a new addiction and stop gracing us all with your inane contributions that i'm sure you believe we cannot live without. Have i got news for you.

Right, I'm locking this now, as it's just getting unpleasant. Believe me, I don't like doing this, but clearly some people on here are incapable of being civil, or just simply ignoring people or threads of no interest to them.

A bit of banter, or even bringing someone to task a bit/ trying to catch them out is one thing, but to be honest this has gone far enough now. There is no need to start name calling, if nothing else it's a bit childish.

What some people need to remember, is this is a forum for anyone who wishes to use it so long as they act within the rules. As there are so many people here, inevitably some will become friends, just as much as some will clash. People will post topics of interest to some that are a load of rubbish to others, but that cuts both ways. This forum doesn't revolve around one person, or group of people, so I suggest if people cannot get along, or can't just manage to banter without resorting to insults, you just keep out of each others way.

I'm all for a bit of banter, and even a bit (heated) debate at times, but this thread is pointless, and is now just being used as a means of insulting one another.
