Everyone who has been on or following the site for a few years now why its ..... lets say not quite as good as it was ....... because of the witch hunt against all the top tuners in the subaru field led to every last one of them leaving the site never to post again... you ask and talk subaru and most dont really have a scooby do what your on about ...thats what has ruined it for me

I personally find it shocking that no one has blamed Nu-Labour yet as lets face it, its their fault that Impreza's depreciate badly due to high tax and fuel prices. Its also their fault that dirty chavs could get loans in order to buy "Gods Choice" of vehicle.
I think rather than blame each other its time we unite against the common foe and possiblely the immigrants while we're at it.

Think its one of them things where you start to get bored with the people on a forum... I say this because im part of quite a few forums, but the one ive been part of for years and have loads of posts on there is quite boring now!
I spend more time on here then i do on the old forum i used to visit... plus the other forum is full of p*****

It has always amazed me how many people come on here to just about utter rubbish. It amazes me how many members we have that come to talk about afore mentioned rubbish and it amazes me how many of them have nothing to do with Subarus.
It also amazes me how many of the above mentioned people forget that this is a site that was built to cater for the Subaru enthusiast. I think this site has gone completely down hill because more and more members just come here to talk rubbish that has nothing whatsoever to do with the reason this site was created. The new owners know that and now the site is geared towards catering for these people instead of the people the site was created for if that makes any sense.

There are lots of other places on SN where you would doubtless be very amazed to see that is where people discuss them instead of subjects which are "not related to Scooby's"!
So if you want to amaze yourself and us all about Subaru's, then try some of the other forums!

Les,
This topic may have been posted in NSR but it was about Scoobynet as a whole not any one given area of it.
So my comments were based on that. I come here solely for subaru related stuff (i've had several Imprezas now and am currently building a very heavily modified one(600bhp) and as such I like to discuss everything that goes with that.
I've never once commented on the stuff that is discussed in NSR as I rarely venture in there. Occasionally i get drawn in when something arouses my interest.
People have asked why Scoobynet has gone downhill, it's simple in the good old days most members were scooby enthusiasts these days that's not so much the case.
I'm fine with people who arent enthusiasts coming into NSR and discussing whatever they wish. What irritates me is when these non enthusiasts moan about the site as a whole going down hill. If they don't like it then they can always find somewhere else to discuss their pointless drivel This is a subaru forum first and foremost people seem to forget that. You included

Oh i do these days, Daz, don't you worry. Those were accumulated during the halcyon days of the Muppet Forum, before Those Who Knew Better decided that if they didn't understand what was going on, the best course of action would be to ban everybody. Brilliant. It's never been the same since, neither will it be again.
Lots of the comments in this thread ring true. Less (and younger/thicker) Scooby ownership, less expertise and so on. What we have now is a dumbed down and muted shadow of what was once undoubtedly a great site. Things change i guess. When another car comes to grab the public imagination like the Impreza did 15 years ago, there'll probably be another, similar site to what Scoobynet was in its early years. Roll on that day.

The image of the marque and it's owners isn't what it once was and niether are the forums associated with it.

I had a very good Scooby in fact, well tweaked up and with first class handling, but for one reason and another it had to go and I still miss it. Because I don't have one any more its unlikely that I have much comment about the car itself now, although I have had the very occasional post about what I did to tweak it where it might have been of interest.
I do agree with your last paragraph and that should have been evident from my earlier post on the subject.

Give me those guys back any day in preference to the usual suspects
who stifle Scoobynet with their blandness now. Any day at all.

Maybe the answer is for all those who are complaining about posts etc. to make a few of the type of posts that they personally would like to see! Perhap's it is just what SN needs as they say!
