Dunno how reliable the sources are, but I found these three for some stats...

1986 Ford Sierra RS Cosworth technical specifications and data - 3 door 2 litre (1993 cc) S4 203.8 PS - Carfolio.com car specifications pages

1987 Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 technical specifications and data - 3 door 2 litre (1993 cc) S4 227.1 PS - Carfolio.com car specifications pages

1987 Ford Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth technical specifications and data - 4 door 2 litre (1993 cc) S4 206.8 PS - Carfolio.com car specifications pages

Is yours one of the above Pete? I have a thing for technical info and stats

^ yes its a 3dr 1986.

Cracking example, highly considering getting one myself next year.....or punting the scoob and going Escos. Have to say white is the best colour for a 3dr IMO

Yes, 1986 is my baby.....

Sandy,

Get your hands on a 3dr if you can, the Escos is a great cat don,t get me wrong, but i wasn,t struck on mine cus the Transmission felt very weak.

Mind you, standard, or a round 330-350bhp they,re fine, FOR A TIME ..lol......

Dont think a standard Escos would entertain me for long, especially as Im not a concourse guy (although I do like tidy, clean and tasteful ). Would only consider small turbo with around 300+bhp.....even then, it may not be enough compared to the STI V5 RA I already have.

Your the 2nd person who has owned both and said that a 3dr would be better fun to own

The RA would feel ALOT quicker and more eratic tbh, better car imo too. As i said earlier, the Escort is a great looking car but a 300bhp Subaru and a 300bhp Escos there,s NO comparison imo...

My last cossie was a 2wd Saff running 460bhp/386lb/ft, now that was a car.. BROWN pants each time i hit the loud pedal i tell you... Anti-lag, Launch control the lot..

I just love how cossie feel & drive though, they,re VERY involving, mind i,m 42 and grew up with Fords of one kind of another, they even smell different.. AND it wouldn,t be a cossie without any smeels, ool leaks etc....

hi pete, mate of mine bought a cossie in 86, took me out in it(standard power) it was scarey fast though i was only used to a 2.8i capri, what yours is like now must be crazy ans as for your 500 cossie, im always reluctant to get involved with cossies some big powered ones about

Very, very tasty. In all honesty, when I was abit younger, I used to think that these were proper chav cars, only now to see the Impreza take that prize and the cossy become a true classic.

A man after my own heart - I've just gone back to my own roots (VAG) and bought a Mk3 Golf GTI with a well spec'd 280bhp 1.8t engine conversion. It's an absolute hoot but I prefer to just polish it ... I'm a sado..

Stunning car, Mate. You've obviously looked at many judging by the fact you've photographed your uncracked dashboard!! Bob

Never realised that the Moonstone one had fallen through, last I'd heard was when you put pics of it up on Passionford... bet you're glad that it went **** up though, the White one you've got now looks miles better IMO.

Always fancied a mint 3dr Cossie in White.

Cheers,
Grant

Two of my old Cossies! the Escort is a motorsport version, one of the first twenty made and originally in Shellsport colours. The 3 door Sierra was built from new as a track day car, and I still have the use of it via a mate. We share the costs, and it works well for us. It's quicker than you'd think with 300 bhp as it handles well, lapping Combe in 1.19. Time we got it out again!
