But without genuine comment on how to move forward, it's pointless, imo.
The site isn't just about a few people, but trying to give somewhere good for all to come, I can't do anything other than ask for suggestions. And that doesn't mean give free reign to trolls, or troublemakers etc. Don't forget, mods want to enjoy the site too. I was a paying member well before a mod, and I like coming here. If we can improve, suggestions are welcome.

It was the answer to the topic title question.
Everyone else was bantering/taking the ****, mine was the only sensible/factual answer.
Half the users = half the fun, simple as.
I post a large portion of the sensible, constructive, helpful, answering queries type posts as well as starting many serious new topics that may be of interest to the community on a regular basis in NSR as it is anyway; any more help would be close to having to charge you all as a consulatnt

Great to see you again
No idea about Pete, he is one of the greatest wind up merchants in here and cracks me up. Would be most upset if he has gone, again

Yes you gave what may be facts, but a least give some opinions of what the people out there want, to go with them.
I can't pay you, I am poor, plus I (other mods) don't get any money out of this.

This site used have real characters/trolls/mainstays and now it hasn't. Any site needs mainstays that cause a bit of controversy/argument. For every PS Lewis/Nacro there were 100 others to react.

Oh, and the site being SLOW AS HELL now might have something to do with it.
The owners/admin know how to solve it - remove the ads.
I use other sites on VB with 1500ish concurrent users throughout the day, posting and reading many more times than on SNET and they are 10X faster. Why - because they have no ads. And the hosting costs are in the mid hundreds of $ a month, not a fortune as some people will have you believe.
Overloading the site with Ads kills the user experience but the owners are too greedy to remove them and make it better for users.

Makes me laugh
SdB one man band running the site with reasonable speed
IB multi million dollar company with vast experience of running websites, forums etc cant even get the speed of the site better than dial up experience, and refuse to do anything about it
and in response to Ali-B's suggestion is IB should sell SN to someone who actually gives a sh*t about it
I cant honestly see how they are happy with things since they took over, how many members here have paid for membership and how many now use ad blockers just to keep the speed up
Stats are at least 30% down from what they were (nothing to do with the weather either) how much revenue is being generated from the adverts with so many users using ad blockers nowadays
I have made suggestions but I get ignored from Admin now (rightly so too I guess )
The biggest problem with SN is that most users wont say anything only the same small handful each time so nothing will change apart from the same old comments time and time again
I never responded to Stu's last post to me as he is a bellend but I asked him to justify spending / maintaining paid membershipo here and his answer was 'why should I' or words to that effect
So even he isnt arsed if people dont pay for membership, that cant be good for IB can it ? the Admin not bothered if no one pays for membership ? isnt the point of this site to generate revenue ?

The only fix that I can think of is for all those complaining about the loss of those previous characters should start making posts in the style of those who have departed.

Some continue to come on here, despite protestations about how bad the place is because of....well, see the picture! Either way, people come on here because they get something out of being here.

Isn't that like saying Darren Fletcher should now start playing as well as Ronaldo, now he's gone?
