Hi David

Not being picky or anything but surely you can't expect my team to run under number 13

Cheers

Woo-Hoo !!!

Received another cheque today, which means that there are now 20 teams paid up (plus 4 individuals, which is well on the way to making another team).

SO the minimium number of teams required are now confirmed, and I don't have to worry about losing hundreds of pounds anymore.

Thanks to everybody who has put their money down and committed to entering the event.

We just need some fine weather now....

Excellent! Glad to hear it David. Quite a relief isn't it?

Still working on more people... Looking forward to this, it should be a great laugh! Any more thoughts on drink/food afterwards?

Cheers

Thoughts, but no action.

I don't really know Milton Keynes that well, as I only moved here in January. If anybody has any ideas for good places to go, please let me know. Or even organise it!

Well done, David. The Hoppy/Hoppy/Mark/Floyd team looks fine by me and Junior.

Best regards and thanks,

Richard.

Question

If we fill all 26 teams, what happens if a kart breaks down? will they have spare karts?

Experience at the last Whilton Mill race seems to suggest we'll need 4 or 5 spare karts (2 were knackered at WM before they even left the pits!)

I'm waiting for final confirmation of the last two teams, after which I can do a final team list.
Suffice it to say that the event is now fully booked.

It is possible that Teams may require additional drivers, but THIS IS NOTHING TO DO WITH ME!!!!
The team captains have total control over their teams, and they will decide if they want more drivers or not. If they do, there's no reason why they shouldn't "advertise" for drivers on this thread (or the new one I will start when I have the final Team list). But I want nothing to do with it, which is why I went for the Team format in the first place .

Karts: to begin with, the Karts at Daytona should be in better condition that those at Whilton Mill, and so should be less likely to suffer from TWOYWS (Three Wheels On Your Wagon Syndrome). I'm not dissing Whilton Mill, but their Karts were ready to be replaced. Which is why they have been.
Secondly, Daytona actually have about 40 karts, but they only allow 25 teams to race to ensure they can cover any unfortunate incidents.

We should be OK.

For those who have missed out, depending on how smoothly it all goes from here on in, I'll be happy to arrange another event later in the year.

Cool

Hey Matt

As a member of your team I would like to say that at Whilton Mill I personally went through 3 Karts :P!

1. No brakes
2. Broken something at the rear end !
3. No steering, so broken something at the front end !

Just thought I would let you know so you know what to expect at MK .

Neal

Not 100% sure about this one, by I believe Daytona are currently doing a 2 for 1 offer on the arrive and drive, for anyone who wants a little practice before the event.
Not me of course. I don't need any practice.

Heres the reply:

Simon
We have an promotional flyer in circulation thru The Milton Keynes Citizen and this deal for 2 for 1 is listed on that flyer. Unfortunately without that flyer you will not be eligible for the special offer as voucher must be produced on arrival at the venue.

The booking is now confirmed...there's no going back!

Daytona is now booked for a Private event on 14th April. It will be a 3 hour endurance event using the 1,360 metre (outdoor!) International circuit, and 390cc prokarts.
Details of the circuit can be found here.

Registration starts at 13:00, so you MUST get to the circuit by this time.

If you require any further details, either e-mail me, or post your questions to this thread.

We're a few down on a team - can I suggest we take Hoppy and Hoppy Junior? We can pair them up with the quick guys from the Jordan karting event to make the team to beat all teams !

How does this sound David and the Hoppies? This would be Jordan Team 3 btw, although we'll have to think of a more interesting name...

Also, our first team is Bitten Heroes, of course .

Cheers
Richard

I was and am still first into the corner. If it wasn't for that ba5tard Wiltshire punting me off mid bend when he missed the braking point I'd still be in the lead

Josh you forgot to mention our other attributes - I'm 16 and a bit stone- I'd be happy to lend anyone the odd 4 stone they are missing- so yes we are completely Donald

Perhaps we could go to the Windmill at Caldecotte? This is our regular place for the MK lot to meet.

http://www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap...0&arrow=y?2,89

The windmill is not where the arrow is It's at the little piccy of a Windmill and PH further up. You can't miss it from the A5 dual carriageway.

It's a big pub with loads of parking and plenty of room for food etc.

Cheers
Richard
