Depends how it's coded, as again, as with quite a few things like this, it could be template based, and thus you're back to the issue of borking the templates.

Having looked at it, it does appear to be different than the other ads, in that it's not just an image, it's text and image, and thus I don't think you're able to adblock it as usually that only works on images. At least I'm only able to adblock the image in the ad and not the whole thing itself. This again points to it possibly being a different style of ad and again brings us back to the issue of how it's implemented and thus how easy it is to disable, could be a simple one click thing but I don't think it is.
