normally I would have said you have cursed it by saying when we are mapping it...
but then this is your car and I think it is beyond cursing in the nicest possible way.

True to form, Simon arrived today to map the thing and we have missfire codes so he could not do anything with it !
Possibility that I may have used a classic crankshaft / cambelt sprocket when I put the engine together instead of the newage one, need to pull it apart again to check !
Not a very happy bunny at the moment and really embarassed to waste Simons time.

'FATE' had better watch out for a short, fat guy with a very large handgun !
I am also considering swapping the crank and cam sensors as a precaution, the only pictures I have from the assembly process appear to show the correct sprocket but pics were taken before the crank pulley was fitted so may have had brain fade and refitted the wrong one (I have bits of several engines lying arround, as you do...........)

Gotta be worth a go. So flippin close now mate. And SOOOO annoying!
You do realise I joined Scoobynet originally cos you told me about it after I bought your old intercooler from your previous engine! Nearly 2 years ago now!!!! Scary.
Keep at it mate. A Scoobynet without your build thread would be a horrible place!

The scary thing is that it has taken me 2 years to get the thing running again !
Thanks for the kind words, I just need to count to ten and take a deep breath and then start all over again...............................
I just hate messing about with the engine in the car, like lots of space to get access to things !
