I went the pandora route (peter jones has the UK high street franchise I think) ...........she now has about £400 quid drooping around the wrist. I quite like the penguin charm LOL

Good for birthdays etc but not anniversary material IMHO.

As I mentioned I'd go down the "years" route. Something to keep forever and not usually too expensive (the next years I think are wood, iron, glass which are cheap too).

How about an origami watch ??

Would be tricky as you would have to solder on multiple clasps to the ring or drill out and try and suspend them.........hot glue gun or araldite not recommended.

I figured the diamonds would sit somehow in the oringinal rings holes, they look easy to take out of the bracelet.

I am going to see a jeweller tomorrow after booking the Indian.

Cheers all.

move on....... been with my woman for 26 yrs. Married for ? 4 or poss 5 ??? not sure..... We did the whole registry office do. Me her and our ermm 2 or 3 yr old. I went outside the office few minutes before and picked two strangers as witnesses. They were gobsmacked !!! Not fair unless you tell NO family or friends.

Got married on November - the something ?? Don't need to celebrate as we just do stuff anytime we like.

Will add only did the marriage stuff so our lad's parents had the same name and we were buying some land at the time so made everything a bit neater.

Maybe we're miserable s**ts ?? Nah we got it right

Oh, by the way I went to Diggles in Liverpool this morning they design and make jewellery to your specs, and they cannot break down the bracelet and put the diamonds in the ring.

They could however melt down the gold in a number of old rings including her Nans ring and then set 22 diamonds into it....for £300.

I thought it would be nice knowing that her nans gold was mixed into the new ring, she is not so sure, but I got brownie points for the effort anyway..

First off, congrats !!

Had our 1st back in May. Traditional presents are paper, so I bought her a voucher for an experience day at the birds of prey centre nearby which she recently took and enjoyed a lot. As the modern present is timepieces, she bought me a new everyday watch

On the day I nipped out for an hour and came back with a 7.3 litre Jensen Interceptor I had hired for the day. We simply spent the day cruising around the countryside, had a picnic etc. And then we stayed in in the evening and got a bit pissed

Cheers

Ian

Thanks for the guidance.

We are going to that new bar mentioned at 0730, then table at indian booked for 9 bells, card has been left with owner along with an order for a bottle of wine (white and his choice, I know nowt about wine, if its vinigar, we will wash it down with Tiger Beer.)

The owner was keen to please, but had some inappropriate ideas involving balloons and all 7 waiters to escort us to our table, I kindly declined.

Also going ahead with the ring build... but obviously she wont have that for tomorrow, more of a ring re-build..

Cheers Yoza who said romance was dead.

I send a text, maybe a card if I remember before hand, then out for a 2-for-1 meal in the evening. Don't do anything big, they'll expect bigger and bigger every year.
