£3995.00 is about the best I can find it anywhere, and that's ebay.
Nat, I want the watch, the price is good for me... anything I should be wary of?

I placed an email "order" with them late Friday. I got an email from them today, plus a telephone call.
They've offered me a brand new and a 2nd hand watch, the email had no bad spellings, and offers a multitude of payment methods. It all looks ok to me.

How bad does a bad fake on Ebay have to be for people not to bid on it?
Damaged Rolex Daytona 116520 - eBay (item 230362478785 end time Aug-06-09 12:35:03 PDT)
I think the scratches on the bracelet may not be the worst of his problems

Although on the other end of the scale, someone just got a £4k Daytona bargain...

Might be a good idea to piont out some of the more obvious things to look out for on the Daytona post 2000 ie alignment of dials etc.
Didn't have time to pop into BSC yesterday but will today so I'll keep you informed.

You mean, why did i, yourself and whoever spent £4k on a dirty, tatty looking watch know they got a bargain
The owner should have spent a little time giving it a clean and polish, and taking better pics then he'd have got at least £1k more.
It is real because...9 sub dial 9 is slightly above the main dial 9 marker, end links fit perfeftly, crown guards are nice and pointy - (although i've seen some v bad ones many times on gen watches as they are all hand finished and all slightly different), crown isn't too big, gold has that soft dull look that only real gold gets when it's dirty and uncared for, crystal nice and high, hands nice and thick, case not too thick, nor the bezel

Welcome to the SNET Fine Watch Chapter...
I popped into Goldsmiths in Meadowhall Sheffield to try on a GMT I'd seen there a while ago. They had several empty stands and no GMT.
Salesman said that there was a few month waiting list for another batch.
Hinted that this was a growing occurance for the GMT
Time to buy one then...

Two Glagow ADs both had ceramic all steel GMT Masters, LV Subs and Explorers in the window at retail when I walked past 5 minutes ago.
They are only a minute apart geographically so there may well be a deal to be done. Doubt you'd get equivalent to the vat off but you may get something. No harm in asking.
Sheffield to Glasgow not that far. Let me know if you want details

Ps contacting Geneve now with regards No's of SDwellers. No known figures at BSC.

Aye it does. They have a business address though so i assume you could go and view before buying. If it all checks out then that's a bargain!
But i think if you contact them you will find it is sold but oh wait, they have another for sale they've just got in for £500 over RRP

Just visted and AD in Tel Aviv and after some decent discounting, removing VAT and a little barter, I go the price of a GMT down to £4,411.
No saving here then.

So Nat or Yoza.
Your postings have convinced me that rather than a deepsea I need a SS blackface daytona.
What sort of price should I be looking to pay for 2005/6.
If the worst comes to the worst I can go to Ancient and Modern or Blowers but would prefer preworn as I plan to wear it myself and don't want to get hung up over never touching my watch against any hard surface.
Any advice gratefully received.
