well,......
not sure what to say.
was really looking forward to this, but ended up spoilt by a few.
I was trying to get the organisers to allow us to have more drivers & we were told what we needed to do in the briefing to get this.
Can not understand why the exact opposite was done. It was like a demolition derby. I was worried that someone was going to get seriously hurt.
I still don't know how Kevin didn't get hurt, and I'm sure Michael only managed to stay on the track because of his karting experience. He was nearly thrown out of his kart as well. I got barged into the tyres, and I saw it happen to others.
One name came up time after time. I understand the signal to return to the pits was also ignored.
One marshal said that another driver swore at him.
A number of drivers also ignored yellow flags. The flags are for a reason - SAFETY; slow down to HALF speed, DO NOT overtake, and do not close on the kart in front. If he goes slow, SO DO YOU.
IF we are going to go again next month this will have to stop.
I know some of you have already paid, and the track is booked. If anyone wants to pull out I will understand. I want to continue to organise this for the majority who want a good night of fair competetive racing.
IF ANYONE DOES NOT WANT TO RACE TO THESE RULES THEY WILL NOT BE INVITED AGAIN, WHOEVER THEY ARE.
The marshalls will be watching even closer next month, and I'm sure they will not accept this again.
I really hope everyone will understand how I feel about this, I'm doing it because I really enjoy it, and I know that many of you do too.

George,
Thank you very much for organising this, I know it takes a lot of effort.
For various reasons I also did not enjoy it so much this time.
Upon reflection, the start was peppered with yellow flag, after yellow flag, we only seemed to be going for 2 corners before they were out again.
This continually bunched the karts, which then caused more probs at the next braking / corner.
Everyone has to start somewhere, but if there are drivers that are too inexperienced and slow, then they are danger for themselves and others.
I was also a bit confused by the green light by the control tower, we where told to abide by the flags and lights, twice I came across the line saw the light and went only to find a yellow flag still at the chicane and then was frowned at!?
Some of the driving was also very 'robust' and almost certainly 'red mist' induced. sorry but it has to be hard but fair.
Lastly, sorry Ed, if I knew how to knowingly punt someone up the pit lane, I may have done that before, but it was just a 'racing incident' honest
Prob a bad choice of phrase, but roll on next month

Thanks for your organising efforts George. and hopefully we can continue.
I hardly saw any "incidents" so can't comment, but knew they were happening due to the amount of flag action. The green light on the gantry was a little confusing but I soon learnt to ignore that signal and only look for flags.
All being said, I had a blast and some great close, CLEAN, racing with Shainy boi, amongst others.

When you see a guy launched out of his Kart due to another drivers complete stupidity something has to be done just from a safety point more than anything else. Like you I'm amazed the guy wasnt seriously hurt. Then when you read comments like "Ave it" why am I surprised?
I'm all for hard/fair racing and that includes the odd "Love Tap" given or recieved but last night was way way beyond that.
Fortunately I'd managed to pass the main protagonist as he caused carnage on the bottom corner and I was looking forward to getting a few quickish laps in but alas that was not to be for most of us last night.
I'm surprised we're still allowed back after listening to the Marshalls version of events, as clearly they were not happy especially when one driver ignores 3 calls to the pit lane.
Sorry Neil but last nights driving by a small minority was just reckless and dangerous.
The previous month was such a blast lets hope next months racing is much better

George,
Thanks once again for taking the time and effort into organising this.
Andy said that the Marshall stated he had been sworn at by someone with flames on their lid, AFAIK there was no one else wearing a helmet of that description other then me.
I can honestly say that IF I did swear at the Marshall it was not directed at him personally. I was a tad miffed having been pushed off and sent into the pits, therefore I was just displaying my unhappiness at the situation.
I am more then happy to apologise to the Marshall next month and offer him the hand of friendship and explain what happened.
