Your post made me look again, this time at the review which opens with....
Introduction
Quietly brilliant is what HTC like to call themselves and they've been giving enough proof lately. But allow us to disagree. The last thing to call the HD2 is quiet - the monster of a PocketPC simply screams rock'n'roll.

If I were to buy an Android phone, I'd wait until the new year. Google are rumoured to be bringing their own hardware out, like Apple did with the iphone. Otherwise, the HTC Passion is supposed to be popular with the Google staffers

I looked at the HD2 and considered it as we were looking at Windows Mobile devices for work. Although it does run Windows Mobile 6.5, it has one of the most powerful processors (Snapdragon processor) and will be able cope with any new version of Windows Mobile.
The issue was the cost, where it would cost £495 compared to £250 for the Diamond Touch 2.
We currently have Blackberrys, but I'm not overly sold on the Bold 9700 or Curve 8520.
It looks like me and my boss both agree that iPhones would be good enough... and maybe we have been sold on the marketing. Once we find the right supplier, we are getting iPhone 3GS 32GB for senior managment, and Nokia E72 or E63 for the sales people.
Looks like I should be joining an iPhone thread.... sorry!

Don't assume you'd get the upgrade to WM7 automatically. They traditionally haven't done this unless the phone manufacturer wants to spend the money adapting it to fit.

Hero chaps
How is your battery life?
I seam to be charging mine every day, although i do play with it a lot at the moment, so some gains could be made in that department
My N93 could go a few days without needing a charge as long as i never meddled with it (i switch them off overnight)
Wondering if the Hero would be the same?
Seen some uprated battery's for sale so may end up picking one up, love the phone, its been rock solid, never froze, never switched itself off like the symbian POS it replaced
The only problem i have encountered was a few apps closing down, but i assume it is because they are done with ghetto freebie code and have bugs, and taking a while to get used to the touchscreen qwerty keyboard (switching on the haptic stuff helped)
ps. has anybody used that metal detector app yet?
WTF how does this witchcraft work ???

I had the G1 from about a month after release.... still loving it. My next upgrade with be either the Motorola Milestone which was released a fortnight ago to Voda Germany (so should be here soon) or the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10.... rumoured around Feb 2010.
The G1 I have now has limited memory so is (i'm informed) unlikely to be updated any further to Android 2.0 when its finally released.

I do believe the hero is due some kind of "upgrade" to version 2.0
But i have no clue on what it is actually going to do
Or if its going to be any better, loads of people seam to be excited for its arrival, so maybe i am missing something.
