Same ere.
Meaning is key to me, and why I personally like them
Memories, tributes, sentiment.

And lets be honest. Tattoos and skin markings are hardly a new thing now

I was having one of those moments, I currently have a half sleeve, Its never stopped me in my career or in my personal life, In fact I have a typical Surrey accent like Hugh Grant so it seems to throw some people. But I was pondering should I go for the full sleeve.

I like a lot of the comments about meaning, My half sleeve is a graffiti picture, I had to done as a memorial to a couple of my friends that got killed by a drunk driver. I sometimes dont want to be reminded and those are the moment I think I should not have got it done.
I did think there would be more negative comments about them TBH, Maybe all the non tattoo'd people are at work

I forgot to say.. the "pain" as some call it is really not that bad at all.
As I say it depends on what part of the body, but I would not be fearful of the sensation/feeling of having it done. Inner arm, inner upper leg, sides/ribs etc are sensitive, but not horrific.

Classy

To balance things up, personally I don't see the point....it's not as if they are cheap!

Most people with them say they like the individuality of them, yet most are run of the mill tat. I'd suggest some of it is done to seek attention, and others to fit in.

I've got better ways of remembering my nan for expample!

There....

lol to seek attention. Cant see how you would get attention or fit in with a tattoo no one else can see

They are no more expensive than an obsession with clothes or shoes. Or maybe drinking/smoking, so not that bad really. Depends how much you get done

Remembering and paying tribute to are slightly different, yet similar in ways.
We all have our vices, some is spending thousands on cars, home cinema, aquariums, etc.

But as I always say, its a personal thing, so each to their own

Yes that is dreadful!

By attention seeking, I mean that people who lack personality might get them done in order to draw attention to themselves.

bit of both, bit of neither. depends what it is, on who and reasons for doing it.

a guy i know is a massive bloke and has a design covering most of his back and going down his arms and i can't help but look at him and think he looks like a pikey. it just looks wrong.
whereas Beckham for example, even though at a glance it looks well OTT i think it all fits and looks really impressive. maybe it's the celeb thing i don't know.

this guys wife (not Beckhams) has a tramp stamp above her **** and for her, being a dirty looking bitch, it fits perfectly

don't get me wrong, some tattoos look great on certain people, doesn't matter if they're big or small, but get it wrong and you look like a proper ****.

Fair enough. I would personally look at the outline being shaded not solid, and the colouring a little better .... although they might be quite old tats.

Where on your leg where you gonna get done and where on your arm ?

I got mine done when I was 16. Just a small one on my back. Did it purely as I fancied one done at the time. No real thought put in tbh, but I was young. (plus it was supposed to be temporary)

I'd get another one done now still, if I could decide what I really wanted, but as I'm not sure of that, I'll not bother for now.

I've got 1 on each inner elbow.
I also had one on my upper arm but have had it removed as I was fed up explaining who it was for and subsequently embarrassing the person asking.

That's me... always thinking of other peoples feelings....
