GF car clamped on private land - removal???

ahh that reasonable term again is it, damn I hate that word they use it a lot in health and safety as well so I suppose ^^^ thats the reason I guess I'm better of taking it off undamaged and leaving it there so it's not stolen... then I don't think they have much they could charge me with?
Hmmm, wonder what the police would say if I got my GF to call them and say they damaged the CV boot while clamping if the clampers would take it off... maybe worth calling the clampers tomoz with that suggestion see what they say.

If they damaged your car (even though it may have been ready to go) then force it right up them!, im glad i live in a country where clamping is deemed as extortion or my Stihl saw would deff be getting a work out (on both the chain and the rest of the clamp).
I wish I could afford to move abroad, I hate this country now

If it helps, that photo proves that the damage was done after the car was parked,as theres no grease anywhere around the suspension (which there would be if the cv boot had split/loosened whilst driving)

take it off undamaged and leave the clamp where it is with the spare wheel in it. this causes them allsorts of issues. ive done it and watched the bloke remove his clamp and left the wheel there. His face was a picture and i had a good laugh on it. lol
this car had been rta'd so i just left the whole front corner there. although i did get it all back

I was clamped in my block of flats years ago, wrong permit on the dash, used the visitors permit by mistake. Cost me £90 to remove and when I tried to claim it back, was told to read buildings terms and conditions where it said 'correct and valid permit must be displayed at all times'. No refund for me 
They've changed to tickets now, as enough complained because of the added inconvenience of not being able to use the car.
There was someone called angle ginder man who was up for chopping clamps off. I just did a search, but his website ain't going any more. Probably in jail...

I got it off.
Was easy with the right tools, I did need to take the wheel off so the "pin" thing in the bottom arm had room to move down out of the hole and the chain get over it.
Pinch bolt was a bitch, very rusty and one side wouldn't take a 12mm or a 13mm so I had to get some grips really tight on it.
Bottom arm came out, I had to stand on a crow bar and bounce until it came out... WD40 really helped (cheers NASA).
Clampers must have been watching cause as soon as I got the clamp off I left it in the car park space and drove the car off, they were right there ready to call the police... a few residents were watching but I'd missed it. As there was no damage and the clamp wasn't stolen they couldn't call on the police as it was cival, we have not as yet heard anything back so good times, power to the people and all that.
stupid as it sounds getting it of was one of the most satisfying moments of my life LOL

i had the same thing happen to me lol. i just cut it off with a cordless grinder. they kept sending me letters so i phoned them up and told them i wasnt going to pay and just take me to court. they stoped sending letters and i have not heard anything since and that was 2 years ago.but they did send me a picture of my car in the post with the letters. i think it depends on how big the company is and if they have the cash to take you to court.
