pulled old one out on Saturday took me about 6 hours!, bit longer than i thought because i was documenting EVERYTHING! (got pics too)

sunday, i cleaned the engine bay, and removed bits from the old engine

monday, stripped torque converter off new engine and installed flywheel and clutch, then about the 5 hours to get engine back in.

good thing is not only does it sound great but its likely to have never been thrashed as it came from an automatic

new engine came complete (only thing missing was turbo) so now i have spare alternator, ac motor, PAS pump, injectors...etc....etc

You should have asked first.
Generally speaking the Auto engine is the same internal spec as the manual. The different power is created by a smaller turbo, a low power map in the ECU and sometimes smaller injectors.

Once all the original externals are fitted to the ' new ' engine I expect it to behave the same as before.

The theory that it has been less stressed than a manual is a good one, Well figured out.

Good luck - David
