I often get stick from my mates for my food rules. I don't like beans and can't eat anything that has bean juice on it, not even the bits that don't have bean juice on them. Spaghetti Hoop juice is fine. Also, I eat my food in individual items e.g. I eat my FEB as follows: the white of the egg, then split the yolk for dipping, 1 sausage, rasher of bacon, 2nd sausage, 2nd rasher and finally hash brown (or toast). The thought of combining 2 or more ingredients together on a fork fills me with dread. A bacon, sausage and egg sarnie is acceptable.

What's more concerning is the advert implies that the accompanying beverage for the fry-up would be a coke, sprite or fanta

That's a serious breach of protocol!!

Well, I've got up too late to start doing one of these, and I have to source the ingredients which is not that easy on a Sunday. I am going to cook one for tea this week. It will be stupendous.

Right.

Beans can be on the same plate. They can touch the white, but ABSOLUTELY NOT the yolk.

The egg must have had the fat splashed over so that the yolk is white on the outside but still runny in the middle. ABSOLUTELY NO (on pain of death!) snotty eggs.

Must have black pudding.

NO mixing the egg yolk and beans on the fork (white is acceptable, as it's tasteless).

TEA is the ONLY thing to have with a FEB. Strong but not stewed (just a dash of milk). Twinings. One sugar. And I speak as one who has black coffee every morning with a non-FEB.

Eggs should be segregated from the beans by using sausages as a breakwater

Hmm, not sure about that!.. If it was going to be a cuppa and a piece of cake, then the sugar in the tea would be ok, but with a Full English I would argue no sugar/sweeteners in the tea!..

Baked beans have absolutely no place in a full breakfast

2 eggs, 3 sausages, 4 bacon, 1 tomato*, mushrooms, black (or white) pudding & fried bread

And a cup of tea exactly as Old Splice's instructions :thumb

*fried, none of your tinned plum rubbish

Best cup of tea in the whole wide world is to be had at the 'Harbour Cafe', Peel, Isle of Man.

Whilst we're on the subject...........which beans?

Now. I've been (no pun intended ) a Heinz girl all my life but I'm afraid I've now gone over to the dark side. Crosse and Blackwell Branston beans are the future.

and on another more serious note the ulster fry is like a weekend in a health farm for us jocks, after were finished frying our breakfast we then drink the cooking oil straight from the frying pan

No matter how good they are, ever since Heinz did the dirty on HP (sauce) i avoid their products where-ever possible. I believe that they now even own Daddies sauce - thus severely restricting the choice of "brown stuff" on the shelves! Both HP (as in "Houses of Parliament") and Daddies sauce are now made in Holland

Branston beans are now my favourite
