I'm just wondering what the hell else everyone on here got upto in their 20's?
If you weren't all going out traveling around and having fun then what were you all doing?
I guess some people settled down too early and are regretting it now and wish they'd gone out having fun instead and others probably wasted all their money modifying crap cars

Im poor, fat, sad, lonely 46 and a virgin, I have chronic hallitosis, ricketts, IBS and have never left my home town of Cleckhuddersfax, I drive a Daewoo Lanos, my watch is a Fake Rolex, I have a Nokia 3310 and my telly measures 21 inches as its still a CRT into which I plug my Game Cube, I drink Cider on my own whilst watching tranny **** on my 386 (also with CRT).
But guess what, on Scoobynet the fooking love me
Actually most of the above isnt true.

Nah, done that, spent a few years shopping there out of necessity, my point is that I earn quite well (don't want to say exactly as will cause a backlash) but I was thinking that on here there is a lot of consumerism, discussing Car's, Tellies, Watches, Holidays, Gadgets etc etc and the focus is usually that more expensive = better, I know people who have really nice stuff but generally they don't seem much happier and even if you have ten million quid some things are just the same as someone who earns ten grand a year, a good poo sat there with the Autotrader as reading material would be the same whatever, Toast and Butter is still the same, some aspects of your life just cant change as you still only have a human body to do stuff with, being wealthy is more fun but its only part of a very complex equation and was trying to identify those things that arent subject to your bank balance, a feelgood thread.
Anyway if you are doing ok on here and enjoying life that just isn't allowed, well it is, just don't mention it !

A good days fishing with just a few bits of tackle on either a small river for barbel of carp fishing off the top, cannot be beat.
Ice cold cider on a hot day.
BBQ - nothing like the taste of a good BBQ
roast dinner or really hot Nasai goreng mmmm
sounds of a really good engine, flat 4, 3 cylinder, Merlin
Scent of flowers on a summer evening
Seeing a deer in its natural habitat
Frogs - they're just cool
Lastly growing your own fruit and veg and eating it fresh from the garden.

Some things are still the same and will always be that way,you still have to live with yourself look yourself in the mirror everyday. If you feel content and happy within yourself, everyone has their own goal what they want to achieve.

Also, sometimes I think you can get some benefits from not having loads of money, I have got our old heap of a Fiat 500 through an MOT by doing the work myself, I could have paid someone else but couldn't justify how much it would cost, similarly doing a good job of your own decorating or fixing an appliance, all stuff people get someone in to do, can be tedious but also can be very rewarding, gain you brownie points and push you up the blokey respectometer.

No, you just think you are, and that's the irony because you're too wrapped up in your self delusion to realise it.
Why on earth would I spend my time doing that? That's why this is all so sad and tragic because you think you're important and better than us all.
The reality is that you're nothing more than someone who really hasn't anything better to do than to come on here and try and belittle people so that you feel better about yourself.
I'd say just about everyone here has the measure of you and that it's us that's way ahead of you. We all know just what a tragic nobody you really are
Do the decent thing and end your misery and go and hang yourself as above. LOL

You're the one doing the belittling and calling me a (unt and a ******. I just posted up my simple pleasures and put them into perspective when stilover said my life was boring and then yourself and stilover started attacking me didn't you, everyone can clearly see this.
Why are you so interested in me? You clearly have no life yourself and so are paying far too much attention to mine which speaks volumes about the sort of self loathing personality you obviously have.
Your anger amuses me greatly. Every one of your little posts of fury is another guaranteed laugh for me and loss for you

Why? Because being able to or think you can attack someone on the internet is obviously fun for you, that's why. You've made it clear you get off on it. I think you probably touch yourself while you do it and get excited. You're an angry little man who thinks he can pick on people, usually i guess when you see how much better, successful and superior they and their lives are to the car crash that is you and your own. My guess is that you usually get away with picking on people or at least trying to. This is because you suffer from severe self deficiencies. You're a weak minded bully.

Never been a bully, never will be, I despise it.
I've given you a bit of grief because for some reason you profess to be better than us all. Personally I've seen nothing that you've posted that indicates that you're the caliber of person than can achieve such things.
I'm not angry at all, more bemused as to how wrong you've analysed me in your above post. This is the internet you fool. I'm sat at home chilling out after coming back from a nice meal with the GF at a Local Indian restaurant, cracking up watching Tim Minching on the TV.
I used to earn a 6 figure salary I gave it up as it was too dangerous, too stressful and I spent alot of the time abroad mainly in the middle east away from my family and friends. I now earn roughly £30K a year and couldnt be happier. Especially when sad sacks like you show me how f*cked up people's lives can be and the lengths they go to convince people otherwise or in your case to try and convince themselves otherwise.
You can say what you like and respond however you wish. You keep thinking you've got the better of me, to me it matters not. I know for a fact that I'm the happiest i've probably ever been. If you are too then cool but at the end of the day if all your rantings are the rhetoric I think they are then you're only lying to yourself. The fact of the matter is nobody really gives a toss whether its true or not. The real tragedy is if it isn't real and you're lying to yourself and that's proper pitiful.
I'm done with any kind of interaction with you. Infact I've suprised myself by spending this much time typing these replies to a basket case and his delusions.
I've said my bit. I shall respond no more Take it easy rock star!!

I suppose I’m being just a tad snobbish, those clubs always seem to advertise on the back pages of glossy mags and Sunday supplements, along with Royal Mint commemorative Princess Diana plates and naf watches
And the thought of aimlessly driving a flash car around seems soo pointless and rather vacuous – buts that’s just me I suppose and this is a car forum after all so what the fvck do I know
(or worse hashing up some excuse to visit a place or stay overnight at a quaint country hotel -- when in reality its just an excuse to "get" there in a flash car)
anyway the really cool way of doing that is my younger brother's way -- who works for IBM, spent two years "test" driving pretty much every car on the market (apart from a Lotus Elise) telling each garage he was looking for a new company car, often had them for a week, and once had to get the renault garage to come and collect the Clio 182 because a guy was delivering a Integra Type R from a Honda delearship in Oxford, and my brothers drive was full. (he had everying from a RR to a M3 with a Ford Twin cab in between -- oh and once a Merc people carrier to take his mates on a camping trip in wales) -- cost him nothing
Simple pleasures – fiddling around in my garage with my cars and stuff and spending time with my rather large family, and when I get the time windsurfing and running
