hawkeye sti or wrx,s hatch

Well I happen to think it looks really cool, wouldn't have bought it otherwise. Had loads of positive comments about it and get a lot of people looking at it when I'm driving. I judge the car on the way it drives mainly. Think mines great. Traction and grip are excellent of course, acceleration is very good, gearbox has a lovely mechanical feel, brakes are very good and not over servoed like most modern cars and the ride is excellent too.

What colour is yours Wigsworld ?
Mine is white. Bought it in June.
I'll have it remapped at around 10k miles.
Cotton Competition reckon on about 270 bhp and 312 lbft.
Prodrive could have achieved these figures first time round but would have been as quick as standard Sti.
An excellent car for £19k new.

Have you ever seen another WRXS on the road ?
I haven't and I've never seen the Sti hatch either.
I've seen a couple of standard WRX hatches, but they lack something
without the Sti body parts.

I haven't seen any WRXS' on the road yet or STI's either. Seen an old lady drive a red 1.5r near where I live and a black diesel. They don't look anywhere near as nice without the STI parts and wheels, funny how it totally transforms the car. Have you any plans to mod your car?

If i could have afforded (and found) a hatch i definately would have considered it, and taken a test drive. I drove the diseasal and think the driving position an quality in the cabin were better than in my blob.
You guys with the hatch's is the throttle fly by wire on them or still on a cable?
DO they have cruise control as standard? I really miss the cruise control i had!

Fly by wire and cruise, well on my hatch sti, not so sure about the wrx.
I had a hawk and loved it but when it was time to move on i was certainly not going to go backwards, have not regretted my decision once, the hatch is a great car and the way forward for Subaru if they want to continue seeing cars.
Question for hawk ownwers, when you decide to get a new car will you move mark on just coninue to by hawks, at somepoint if you want to stick with a subaru you may have to accept its a hatch or an older car.
For me the choice was simple, every time i buy a new car it has to be better and newer than my current car, i did consider a t25, rb320 s204 etc but for a daily driver and familr car the warranty gives piece of mind along with the safty of the hatch.
Just my opinion of course.

I collect my 06 STI hawk tomorrow, and could have gone for either a Hawk or a Hatch. My own personal taste denotes that I'm not at all keen on the hatch version at all, so it was always going to be a Hawk for me.
If I move on from the STI to something of a similar nature down the line, then to be honest it will more than likely be an EVO 10

Cotton Competition at Garstang is my local Subaru tuning expert, and I plan to take the car there for a remap at around 10k miles (they recommend not to do it before then), but with no other physical changes to show that the car has been modified. Only slightly less than 3k on the clock after more than four months so am looking at approx next August or so. This is my third turbo Impreza from new in the past 12 years. I bought my previous WRX in 2004 and took it to CC for a remap in 2006. Totally transformed the standard car with massive gains in torque. There was a noticable difference low down but came in more strongly higher up the rev range. 252/288 will do for now, though.

That said ive still had classic owners say they do not like the RB320,everyone is entiteld to there opinion, but for me it is the best of the old shape.

When it comes time to change my Hawkeye, I will move marques as the hatch is really not for me. Unless that is Subaru do something drastically different in the very near future.

Ive just bought a WRX-S and to be honest not many about Subaru only sold 47 cars last year and thats over there 90 outlets. Strugling maybe unsure, But i like it, reason i got it as its hatch so i can get loads in it like my MTB rather than the roof and still tonk along.
I suppose everyone to there own, Id love an 330s but fuel isnt great compared and for the miles i do to London i had to draw the line, Watch this space i,ll prob get it built if it goes any higher, Can anybody reccomend anybody who doeds WRX-s and has it on there website of how much and what gains etc ?

That's because we've put our money where our mouth is... not keyboard warriors slagging off anything we have not tried.
To buck the trend, I'd go for the hawk STI (sorry fellow Hatch owners), I'm not taken with the WRX-S, the lack of flared arches make the car very slab sided sorry.
