Yoza has an uncanny resemblance to this guy. Although I'd say he's a fair bit shorter than 6ft 7!

What I can't understand is how some bloke can drive into a car wash and expect free service! Who the hell does he think he is? And what right has he to start threatening you because you were just doing your job?

Are they all like that round your way Stickey?

How you kept your cool i dont know!

Fair play though, you reckon he will come back?
If someone is that in your face, you can't really punch them. You need some distance between you and them for that. You never really want to get into a staring match with someone like that, as you can't see their hands. Whilst you're staring in their eyes, they could be putting a knife in your stomach.

You get back instantly, and tell them to back off, you also raise your hands as if half-heartedly offering a surrender pose. This achieves three things.

i) It establishes them as the aggressor and gives you room to see what they're up to
ii) It lets them know you're not interested in a confrontation via your body language (i.e. you're not staring them out).
iii) Your hands are ready to defend you or deliver a blow if necessary.

If they take a step towards you again, you step back and tell them to back off again.

If they do it again, then a reasonable person would say that you were entitled to defend yourself. In most confrontations of this nature, the person who gets the first meaningful blow in wins! You want that person to be you!

Some good advice here: but presented in an unintentionally hilarious fashion.

Fair's fair Micky you showed restraint hat off to you for that. The bloke look like he's fat and past it anyway. Relying on the reputation of his Youth maybe?

There's a couple of different ways to deal with idiots like this.
You could have pointed the camera out to him and informed him that everything is recorded in good quality colour. That may or may not have ended the situation there and then.

Head butting would have been the obvious choice. This bloke already had his hands up at face level and would probably have stopped it coming.

Personally if at that point you knew things were going to go **** up I'd have had a handful of his bollocks squeezed and twisted. It's usually game over at that point no matter how big they are.

The reality of this is that this fat old knacker has probably gone home, calmed down, thought on the fact he tried his luck and didn't get away with it. Knows that he's a **** for kicking off and that you'll probably never see or hear from him again.

If he does come back though I'd say you have every right to get the first one in and make it count. A quick thumb jab to the eye will usually deter

Keep the footage, you may need it as evidence if things do escalate.

Forgot all about this.

The blokes response to the camera system when informed about them was

"I DONT GIVE A FLYING F*CK ABOUT YOUR F*CKING ***** CAMERA SYSTEM"

To be honest, he will probably stay away for about a year, and then come back in, trying to get a cheap wash under the radar, i am quite good at remembering peoples faces when they **** me off.

Some bloke was a bellend around 5 years back and it ended up with me barring him, 3 years later he came back, unlucky for him i recognised him and as soon as his bull**** started i informed him that i barred him 3 years ago and why did he come back?

I actually rang my local mate up this morning and left a message on his office answering machine telling him i had not forgot about him and would be burning the place down soon, he was threatened in the same way around 2 weeks back by a couple of gypos that had set up camp near his site

It is kind of a running joke amongst us, as we usually get some kind of death threat at least once per year from knobbers

If this bloke was from the gypo gang i might have believed him, i actually saw the 2 gypos at my mates site, before i left, they looked shift as hell, it all kicked off for him around 5 mins after i left

One of the current problems IMO is this recession/credit crunch malarkey

We have all cut staffing levels right down, so we need to do a lot more donkey work, so when a bellend arrives on site, there will be a good chance that the frachise owner will be mistaken for the simple wash staff, especially if he is wearing a simmilar uniform.

The days of sitting in the office all day doing nothing are currently gone, so Mr Bellend "the customer is always right" thinks he can start to give us some grief, and we have to take it, otherwise our boss will kick our asses.

I had some woman arguing once, she will not touch a white persons skin, she puts her money in a bag and leaves it on the roof of her car while she drives around, i had a few complaints from staff about her being a knobber, and it ended up with me attempting to make her chose another site, only she apparently knew the boss, and was going to ring him, well i thought this was hilarious, she apparently did not have his new number, so it was not working, i helpfully wrote the number down for her and held it up to her window (she will not take the paper from my white hands )

She then "rung" my mobile number and "complained" about me

She ended up leaving and using my mates site for about 3-4 months, before he got sick of her as well and got shot of her, apparently she was shouting to other customers that he was a thief and stole her change (although she could not take the change due to not touching white hands)

Some fruity people in the world IMO

Never know, might get burned tomorrow

I think you did well standing there not reacting. Its so easy to say what you should / shouldnt of done but the moment things like this happen, thats the real test. And the wiser, clever man would of done nothing and kept cool, so I tip my cap at you.

One of the guys above mentioned something very true, you shouldnt of allowed him to be so close. You couldnt see if he's taking a knife out of his pocket, and your too close to hit him / defend yourself. A headbutt would of been your only action, but headbutts seemed to be disliked and harder to excuse when your nicked ( trust me on this one ).

When these things kick off, you've only got a few seconds to really calculate what to do, hence the fight or flight senerio. When you do boxing alot, train, or fight alot in clubs / pubs, moves + positions become second nature, and if you've got a voilent streak in your personality, then you dont tend to talk about what your going to do, your already in with the jab and positioning for the second one.

Real life fights are about 3 punches long, tend to be more wresling matches and are not like rocky111 / steven segal movies. They are messy, hardly ever one on one and no one ever wins.

It is true, from working in clubs / pubs, the guy that you throw out, which walks out clamly, is the one to be careful of, the one who walks out shouting / screaming about `doin` you, well, take that with a pinch of salt. Little guys always seem to have a chip about thier hieght and always go for it. Agression give back to agression has no where else to go but fights, so being polite, not raising voices, claim 90% of the time defuses the situation, hence why women bouncers are good.

The more dealings with the police you have, the more you realise they have no common sense and go for the easy nick. They dont listen to sense, or reason, so its so difficult to workout what is allowed regarding `reasonable force`. The `feared for my life` works once, and once only ( again trust me on that one ). Spitting is precieved as assault too.

Now, when Im confronted with situations like this, I walk away, as Ive got a terrible temper, even reading about your situation has made me angry inside. Remember the last few scenes in Lock Stock and two smoking barrels, where Vinnie Jones is slapping the guys head in the door ? Well, a switch goes in my head and Im like that.

In my youth I would fight all the time, infact I would go out knowing it would happen. Pumped on Deca, training all week, I saw it as sparring. Now at an older wiser age, 37, I tend to avoid situations, as Ive got too much too lose. My g/f, son, house, job. I realise I was a right **** when younger, and with age has come wisdom.

But, this doesnt mean that later on I dont go over it in my head and feel like a whimp that I never reacted, or beat myself up mentally about what Ishoud of done, and how Im a poof. Sometimes Im my own worse person, I beat myself up more than anyone else would. But, this is the best way to handle things, as no one seems to fight one on one anymore, they tend to cowardly comeback scratch your car, your vandilse things.

So, you did very well and you stood up for yourself well. Dont over think what you should / shouldnt of done. No one was hurt, your werent hit and all you heard was a fat old guy talk endless crap.

That's my understanding also. If he then touched you after raising his arms in an agressive manner then it becomes Assault & Battery.

Grab his sweaty wedding tackle ! No thanks, a swift kick should suffice....

As for the assault, he "twitched" to get you to hit him first, so he could justify you getting a pasting from him.... ( fat chance ! )

You did well to take that sort of intimidation, I'm no brawl-king, but wouldn't feel comfortable with a large sweaty oik in my face.
