I didn't realise how many accounts were owned by just one person ... and the attention I attract from them
Anyway, my friend is waiting the SN definitive answer ... Ferrari or House?

Technically Pete is not making any noise, so a more appropriate turn of phrase wuld simply be

A good friend is in a dilema and needs your help .....
Would you buy a house, or a used Ferrari 430 .... house about £250k - car about £ 55k.
Buying the car would rule out the house, buying the house would rule out the car.
The car will drop to around £30k and stay there - the house 'may' go up to £300k in 3 years? The house could, of course, lose £50k!
Buying the house may pay for the 430 in 36 months time if the profit is taken .... but saving will also buy the 430 in around 24 months assuming £2k per month is put away for that purpose.
Car or House?
Bit of a daft question on a Car Forum ... but lets see where it goes.

Has the bloke thought about the cost of servicing such a car which is mindbendingly expensive. Lovely car to own but where can you use the performance under normal circumstances in this country and still keep your licence? The running expenses would be enormous.
It would of course be good for parking up in the town somewhere so that everyone can see it and hate you for owning it!
If I was you Pete, I'd buy the house!

Like I said, £70k ... every dealer takes 10% off just for showing you are serious ... then it's down to the nitty gritty serious negotiations (Dealers love to have someone who tests their skills) so - we are talking £63k as a starting point. As I said.
BTW I am NOT saying this is the car in question ... just someone doubted that a Ferrari 430 was out there for the figure I quoted ... a quick google found this one.

I'll tell you something, you don't half post some (rap on here, but this one is the greatest yet!
So what you are trying to say is that a dealer has got so much profit in this car, that he can give you £15,000 off it and still earn his bread and butter? Thats magnificent! This is where the motor trade is going wrong! Instead of pricing cars to sell, we should be pricing them massively over what we want to sell them for, and knocking huuuuuge discounts off and then selling them with little profit! After all, it works for GM/Vauxhall doesn't it??
Erm,
Hang on,
Thats not quite right, is it?
However, if you are such a master of negotiation, I would like to invite you to help me with my house purchase. It's only a modest £150,000 3 bed semi, but if you can get me 10% off, I'll gladly pay you £5000 cash! I'll still be £10k better off! I negotiate approximately 240 deals a year and I've never given a customer 10% off a car. Ever. Nor have I ever seen anyone else give a customer 10% off a car. . . .
Can I just make a valid point though? I don't have many mates who could buy a 430, and not many friends who would be buying a £250,000 house either. BUT if I did, they WOULDN'T be asking my advice, or asking me to ask people on a forum because surely, if they are successful/rich enough to be in that privileged position, they would surely be making their own decisions by now? Otherwise, how on earth did they become so successful in the first place?
That only leaves one more thing to say really.
