Belliot69 they are very docile and will only sting when provoked! They will give you 2 warning bumps and if you dont leave then you will be stung. People are scared of them through ignorance and because they are bigger, yet their sting is no worse than a normal sized wasp Leave em alone and theres nothing to fear

Fleas don't bother me btw
A dressed up turd, you are.

I just LOVE these ill-educated morons telling others what to do and how to do it

These things are going, end of.

Now go back to your dreary little job eradicating pests, you prat.

Sweetheart chill out you ****! I LOVE how when someone dosn't agree with your obviously highly efficient method of removing these guys you can merely throw insults around.

I work with stuff like this everyday and i see the results of ill educated morons like you trying to deal with mother nature every week! It often results in a hospital visit for the people involved

Call a pro and the job would be done quickly, properly and efficiently
Now when you can string a reasonable reply together without pathetic childish attempts at insults i would love to hear it. Just remember that without people doing my "dreary little job" you wouldn't have any way to sort these things properly, supermarkets to buy food, restaurants to eat in etc without having lots of bugs and critters sharing your food with you.
I'm sure you have a super duper exiteing job in an office too

Update:Tanyatriangles 1, Hornets 0!!!!!!!!!!

Despite Scotty's assumptions, I haven't been stung. The hornets are all gone, I've opened up the chimney "door", (it's a large fireplace, with chains and racks for cooking a huge roast, but closed off at the moment due to the lack of a fireplate), and looked, and there are about a dozen, dead, on the floor inside.

So..............get in the professionals? I think not. God alone knows what they would charge me to come 30 miles, (that's the nearest, this IS rural France after all), then do the job. MY outlay was £12, plus petrol to the hardware store, about 4km each way.

Oh, and Scotty..........no dreary office job for me. I've BEEN a science and maths teacher, (dealing with other sorts of pests), and an HGV driver, but now am retired early
