Moving up the property ladder - hows it done then?

same for us mate,
house 130k, mortgage 50k, we have probably got the nicest most extended one on the road, for us to get a smilar 3 bed house in chealde or gatley, it woould be over 215k
so we would still need to borrow at least 135k, its not doable on our wages,
there is no point in us moving to a smaller house, in another area.
its quite nice where we are now.
.
the kids are in the right schools so we will just sit tight and wait fo rthe old inheritance to come.

I have thought about having a shed in the garden. I could a fair sized shed out the back quite easily. Its certainly something to think about but a fair sized shed is still going to be a good few grand.
I had planned to just build in the loft anyway and just avoid walking on the weak bits

No. They are nearly giving away sheds at the moment
The garden office / garden sheds
You need to put a base down - I used pallets which I timber treated - and get a pal to help you put the shed together. Give it some Cuprinol and it will last for years. Plus a great place for the kids to play in.
